DIRECTOR’S NOTE “Second star on the right and straight on til morning!”

As a little girl, Iowa brought perfect star gazing summer nights. Living under an infinite sky filled with the man in the moon, twinkling lights, shooting stars, and quiet dreaming. Which star is the “second star on the right”?

“Star light, star bright, The first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight”

I got my wish! I never had the chance to play the role of “Peter Pan”, but the next best thing was to give my students an opportunity to experience the treasured tale.

“Peter Pan” is a musical adaptation of J. M. Barrie’s 1904 play. Once again, allows adults to escape from reality while inspiring and stirring children’s imaginations. You might say that at the ripe old age of (?), I was “hooked”. Imprinted on my mind after all these years were the emotional and personal themes in the writing; the nostalgia for childhood and play, the recognition that we all must cross into the world of adults.

Thank you to my partner in crime, Dan Murphy, whose talent and love for musical theatre teaches, encourages, and demonstrates a discipline for the arts, excellent work ethic, and prin- ciples. Thank you to my team: Lois Haag, Kathy Roberts, Tim Roberts, Barry Albertson, Paul Grun, and your desire to insure that TuHS students have a Musical Theatre opportunity each year. Thank you to my promising students who have taken ownership and responsibility in the production and who keep me young at heart. Kudos to Mr. Stegmeier and the Orchestra!

Enjoy, Kim Kroeger

Happy Pet means Happy Owner! Traditional spays of yesteryear often lead to significant pain and discomfort for your pet along with the now unnecessary removal of all the reproductive organs. Today, laparoscopic assisted ovariectomy only requires the removal of the ovaries through 2 small incisions causing less recovery time which means your “Princess” is back up and active sooner. While the additional equipment and train- ing required for L.A.O. is slightly more than lower cost options, you, your pet and your family will enjoy the benefits of less pain, less medicine and faster recovery.

Everybody’s happy!
