WIP was created for two reasons. The first to serve as an outlet for all the great work and ideas that fling around the practice but, for one reason or another, might never see the light of day. Sketches. Ideas. Doodles. Those first sparks that crackle with energy, the ones that take your breath away because of their potential…but sadly get placed back in a drawer because, well, they’re just not right for this project or that client. In this regard, WIP has become a powerful recruiting tool for us because it celebrates a culture that truly believes good ideas can come from anyone and anywhere. We don’t care where you are in your career, or where you stand in the corporate hierarchy, the best idea wins. Always. WIP’s second purpose has always been to elevate the quality of design at RTKL—to create a public forum for our best work to be judged, assessed and critiqued by outside professionals. This is the soul-baring part, and it’s by far the most difficult and wrenching because it reveals who we are at a vulnerable and formative stage. Do we measure up? This year, we took this second purpose to heart and set out to raise the bar as much as we could. We made the submission requirements more demanding, more deliberate and more specific, especially with regard to performance metrics. Our goal is to push our designers to think more about why they do things and the impact their work has on the world. And, by and large, it worked. -

ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating 2020/21
Challenger Series in Figure Skating 2020 / 21 A N N O U N C E M E N T (Revised August 31, 2020) INTERNATIONAL SKATING UNION ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating 2020/21 1. GENERAL The ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating, introduced during the 2014/15 season as an ISU series of International Figure Skating Competitions has proven to be successful and an excellent tool for many Skaters to get prepared for qualifying and competing in ISU Championships. The ISU Council reiterates that being mindful that the ISU support towards the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating is restricted to a limited group of organizing ISU Members, to a limited number of Skaters and to a limited number of Officials, the ISU Council agreed to financially support a restricted group of identified ISU Members traditionally staging International Figure Skating Competitions being part of the ISU Event Calendar. This ISU support has the objective to ensure the proper and consistent organization and conduct of up to ten (10) International Competitions linked together within the ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating giving adequate opportunities for many Skaters to compete at the international senior level and earn World Standing Points and to increase the opportunity for Officials to officiate at an international level. The ten (10) events of the ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating for the 2019/20 season are as follows: (only 5 events will host Pair Skating – in grey) Date Competition Place 16-19 Sept. 2020 Nepela Memorial 2020 cancelled Bratislava, SVK 23-26 Sept. 2020 Nebelhorn Trophy 2020 Oberstdorf, GER 08-11 Oct. -
