DIGIlST AND USO' BUJDaRY) RCS: HAF'-ACM(A)7203 1983 PREPARED BY MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS DIVISION DIRECTORATE OF COST AND MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS COMPTROLLER OF THE AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS, UNITED STATES AIR FORCE WASHINGTON, D.C. 20330 PUBliCATION DATE: 1 JANUARY 1983 NINTH EDITION FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY FOREHORD This is the ninth edition of the USAF Summary. Its coverage has been greatly expanded to include a number of tables from the now defunct USAF STATISTICAL DIGEST, a glossary, charts and observa- tions concerning the tabulated data, an abridged version of the Program Element Monitor Directory, etc. The present edition consists of some 85 tables which generally track activity for the period FY 1976 to the present. Whenever possible, documentation is provided regarding data sources and a point-of-contact is given. The present volume represents AFjACM's response to comments received from the field last year, when a survey of STATISTICAL DIGEST and USAF SUMMARY users was made. And it is only the beginning! Plans include development of more in-depth analyses and periodic publication updates during the fiscal year to keep the field abreast of significant changes. In order to assure the day-to-day usefulness of this management tool, it is imperative that an open communication channel be mai ntai ned between the SUMMARYpubl i shers and users.
