31 REETH AND DISTRICT GAZETTE LTD The Twenty Minute Morning & Night Rule

Apparently, if you want to learn a new skill, one of the best ways to pick it up is to practise it for twenty minutes in the morning as soon as you wake up; and for twenty minutes at night just before going to bed. Why? Put simply, in the morning your brain is at its freshest and will absorb the new information more easily. Equally important is the twenty minutes practice before you go to sleep, because when you go to sleep, the brain starts to accumulate what you have learned and to make new connections in the brain cells. Then, when you wake up and practice again, the new connections are reinforced. And so on.
