OUTREACH INITIATIVES No. Type of Outreach Initiative Brief Description of Activity (e.g. internship, job fair, etc.) 1 Job Fair Townsquare Media Utica attended the Mohawk Valley Community College’s (MVCC) Career Fair on April 3, 2013. The Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager attended the fair, solicited resumes, and spoke with students about careers in the broadcasting industry. 2 Job Fair Townsquare Media Utica attended the Radisson Hotel’s Career Fair hosted by CentralNewYorkHelpWanted.com, in Downtown Utica on August 6, 2013. The Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager attended the fair, solicited resumes, and spoke with students about careers in the broadcasting industry. 3 Internship Program This year we were able to support two interns through the New York State Broadcasters Association internship program. 4 Internship Program Townsquare Media Utica maintains an internship program with local colleges. A student interned for a set number of hours for college credit. 5 Tours/Shadowing/Speaking Townsquare Media Utica provided tours and Q/A Engagements session to a number of elementary schools as well as adult students at a local college studying communications. Staff members, Traffic Director, Engineer and Brand Managers conducted the tours of the radio station describing the different departments and positions. A tour was given to a group of elementary school students who learned the basics of radio and watch/participate in the production of an on-air commercial. Required on-board training provided for new Account Executives as well as Marketron training on the programs used on a daily basis.Center for Sales Strategy - online CSS sales training provided. In the Digital department, training and meetings are provided to the staff to help improve their selling, as well as blogging and social media techniques. Townsquare Interactive (TSI-websites) includes three training sessions per year with a TSI specialist who visits the market and works with the Sales team. Digital training included: Value Connection 2.0, Digital What and Why (online), and awareness provided. Brand Managers, Digital Managing Editor, Director of Sales and Live Events Manager provide group brainstorming sessions as well as skills and training sessions as they see fit, to improve ideas, and learn/adapt to changes in the radio environment. 8 Public Presentation Townsquare Media Utica’s General Manager gave a presentation to students enrolled at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) on November 6, 2013 for recruiting/educational purposes. She addressed a class of approximately 25 students and presented a Power Point presentation that explained how the radio industry has evolved. She also explained how all of the departments work together to achieve success and highlighted various career opportunities in radio. She encouraged students to reach out to Townsquare Utica if they were interested in pursuing a career in radio. DC\775326.1 9 Job Fair Townsquare Media Utica’s General Manager attended a Career Fair at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) on November 13th for recruiting/educational purposes. There were approximately 40 other businesses that participated. She handed out radio station collateral and spoke to student attendees about career opportunities in radio.
