Educational Technology and Related Education Conferences for January to June 2012 Educational Technology and Related Education Conferences for January to June 2012 Prepared by Clayton R. Wright, crwr77[at]gmail.com, November 16, 2011 This 26th version of the conference list covers selected events from four continents. The list focuses primarily on the use of technology in educational settings and on teaching, learning, and educational administration. Only listings until June 30, 2012 are complete as dates, locations, or Internet addresses (URLs) were not available for a number of events held after this date. (The December 2011 listings have been updated from the previous list.) An explanation for the format of the list can be found at http://newsletter.alt.ac.uk/2011/08/why-distribute- documents-in-ms-word-or-openoffice-for-an-international-audience/. A Word 2003 or an OpenOffice format is used to enable people who do not have access to Word 2007 (or higher version) and those with limited or high- cost Internet access to find a conference that is congruent with their interests or obtain conference proceedings. (If you are seeking a more interactive listing, refer to online conference sites.) Consider using the “Find” tool under Microsoft Word’s “Edit” tab or similar tab in OpenOffice to locate the name of a particular conference, association, city, or country. If you enter the country “Singapore” or “United Kingdom” (for the UK) in the “Find” tool, all conferences that occur in Singapore or the United Kingdom will be highlighted. Or, enter the word “research”. Then, “cut and paste” a list of suitable events for yourself and your colleagues. Please note that events, dates, titles, and locations may change; thus, CHECK the specific conference website. Note also that some events will be cancelled at a later date, such as those in Tunisia and Egypt in early 2011. All Internet addresses were verified at the time of publication. No liability is assumed for any errors that may have been introduced inadvertently during the assembly of this free conference list. Kindly retain the contact information when you re-distribute the list or mount it on the web as that is how I receive updates. crw December 2011 November 27-December 1, 2011 Australian Association for • Former World No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic Added to Odlum Brown Vanopen Men’S Draw
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JULY 16, 2015 FORMER WORLD NO. 8 JANKO TIPSAREVIC ADDED TO ODLUM BROWN VANOPEN MEN’S DRAW Vancouver, BC - Organizers of the Odlum Brown VanOpen are pleased to announce former World No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic has been granted a wildcard entry into the main draw of the men’s competition August 15 - 23 at Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver. The 31-year-old from Serbia spent 2014 recovering from a foot injury and is looking to get back to the form which made him a US Open quarterfinalist in 2011 and 2012. He also made it to the fourth round of singles at Wimbledon in 2007 and 2008, the French Open in 2012, and the Australian Open in 2013. “We are really excited to add a player of Janko’s stature to the men’s draw at this year’s tournament,” said Odlum Brown VanOpen Chairman Floyd Hill. “Anytime you can attract a player who’s been among the top 10 in the world and defeated the calibre of players that Janko has, it strengthens the event significantly and gives fans the opportunity to see another world-class player here in Vancouver.” The players that Tipsarevic holds victories over reads like a who’s-who in men’s tennis. He has two career wins against World No. 1 and fellow Serb Novak Djokovic. Tipsarevic has also beaten former World No. 1 players Carlos Moya, Marat Safin, Lleyton Hewitt, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Andy Roddick. In addition, he has thirteen career victories against other top 10 players, including four wins against Tomas Berdych, and one each against Fernando Gonzalez, Mikhail Youzhny, David Ferrer, James Blake, Gael Monfils, Andy Murray, and Juan Monaco.
