THE HADAGUTFUL DIFFERENCE

Remote Australian destinations are our idea of ‘getting away'. If you share that same dream, let us make it happen. Our aim is to provide as much freedom as you, our ‘fellow adventurers’, need to come back feeling refreshed and rejuvenated... call it ‘Real Life Expedition Therapy’.

Hadagutful Expeditions provide personally guided off-road Australian adventures. With Hadagutful you will venture to extraordinary and idyllic Australian locations. We specialise in 5-18 day Overland Expeditions exclusively for just one, two or three guests. Hadagutful provides all equipment, catering and planning to ensure that your Expedition travels are truly extraordinary.

Hadagutful is different from other tour operators. Our Expedition travel is a ‘hands-on’ experience. You will get involved with camp set- up, building fires, and daily adventures. Choose to stay a little longer and not be on the go all the time. The Expedition will feel like it’s your ‘own’, allowing you to have input into where you go and what we do. AFTER ALL, HAVEN'T YOU HADGUTFUL?

A TRIP NOT TO BE MISSED EYRE PENINSULA 28.22° S, l37.22° E

Fishing with Rob the Whiting Whisperer at Port Rickaby is an experience. He’s one of the nice guys and will make sure we ‘bag out’ on King George Whiting. None of them will be under 35cm and thick enough around the girth for a two-handed hold. He’s booked in for a half-day charter and makes a mean home-made pizza as we toast the Port Rickaby fishing gods with a cold beer.

The coastline of the Eyre Peninsula is breathtaking for people from other states or overseas. It’s rugged beauty, windswept beaches and seagrass coverings are not seen in other parts of the country. We’ll pull up and be the only people at some locations. The wood found in our travels becomes our night time fire [when permitted] and sometimes doubles as the cooking source. It just doesn’t get any better, the sun setting over the water as you enjoy a refreshing pre-dinner drink.

Swimming with Sea Lions is an amazing experience. Their dog-like behaviour makes you melt as they frolic amongst the snorkellers. It’s scheduled for Port Lincoln, with another opportunity at . If your choice is Shark Diving at Port Lincoln, we’ll need to get this booked. Doesn’t mean we can’t do both though – it’s up to you.

Coffin Bay National Park has a spectacular variety of coastal bushland, beaches and sand dunes. We’ll ditch the trailer, engage 4WD to traverse the beach and tracks. You’ll experience sleeping in a swag as there’s no point driving all that way not to stay the night. Coffin Bay oysters will definitely be on the menu, sourced from the local growers at unbelievably low prices. If you've never shucked an oyster then here's your chance, eaten a la natural with a squeeze of lemon or however you fancy them.

EYRE PENINSULA ...... continued

Point Labatt has one of the few mainland seal colonies in Australia, an amazing sight watching them go about their family business from the clifftops, oblivious to human presence.

If you thought the oysters at Coffin Bay were big, wait until we reach Smoky Bay! The size of these beauties will rock you – world’s best we believe. They’re the ‘uglies’ that restaurants don’t want, but they still taste the same and are the plumpest you'll ever see. We’ll load up with these bad boys and devour them at our beachside camp.

If it’s not too busy we’ll slip on to Perlubie Beach, with its unique thatched beach shelters built by the local farmers. This might be an opportunity to launch the tinny as we camp directly beside the waters edge [tides permitting]. There’s whiting, squid and blue swimmer crabs in abundance, so if the sea gods are kind to us again, we may just catch dinner.

Cactus Beach is a famous surf break and a final taste of the remote South Australian coast. We drive through Lake MacDonnell, one of the most amazing pink salt lakes in Australia, especially if it’s living up to its reputation [climate dependant – search for it on Google]. But if it’s not, then Cactus Beach and Point Sinclair are every bit as spectacular. A cool beachside campground with facilities, offers us the chance to stay and reflect on the journey that was.

The trip concludes in Ceduna and assumes that flights are operational and seating available. The truck returns to Adelaide so we can offer you the opportunity to extend for 3 days as we make our way back. This is a ‘just get there’ route however it’s broken up with a visit to the Gawler Ranges and it’s sacrilegious to drive through Clare and not sample a winery or two. We know one that will raise your eyebrows, particularly if The Mad Bastard is in residence that day!!
