Наиболее известен как вокалист, гитарист, пианист и основной автор песен рок-группļ Muse. Он признан за его эксцентричный этап персоной, широкий vocal range and virtuoso abilities on the piano and guitar. He also released solo compositions. Together with Muse, Bellamy won two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, Resistance (2009) and Drones (2015), two Brit Awards, twice winning the Best British Live Act award, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. The band has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. In 2012, the band received the Ivor Novello Prize for International Achievement from the British Academy of Composers, Composers and Authors. Matthew James Bellamy was born on June 9, 1978 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. He has an older brother named Paul. His father, George Bellamy, was the rhythm guitarist for 1960s pop band The Tornados, which became the first English band to have a number one single in the United States with Telstar. His mother, Marilyn, was born in Belfast and moved to England in the 1970s. On her first day in England, she met Her father Bellamy, who was working as a taxi driver in at the time. They later moved to Cambridge and in the mid-1980s to Tainmouth, Devon. After Bellamy's parents divorced, Matthew lived with his mother and brother. He started playing the piano at the age of six and playing guitar when he was 11 years old. His first musical performance was in June 1991, at the age of 12, playing the piano in front of his school at Teignmouth Community College. Muse Main article: Muse Bellamy, performing in 2001 at Teignmouth Community School, Devon, Bellamy played in a number of bands including Carnage Mayhem and Gothic Plague with drummer Dominic Howard. When members of gothic Plague left for other interests, Bellamy and Howard asked bassist to join them. In 1994, using the name Rocket Baby Dolls, they won the school 'Battle of the Bands', which led them to take the band more seriously, and changed their name to Muse. (quote needed) Muse went on to global success. Muse combines alternative, art rock, experimental rock, progressive rock, classical music, electronics and many other styles. The band is also well known for its energetic and visually dazzling live performances. On June 16-17, 2007, Muse became the first band to sell the newly built Wembley Stadium in London. Muse released their debut album Showbiz in 1999, showcasing Bellamy's falsetet and melancholic alternative rock style. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), expanded their sound to include wider instruments and romantic classical influences, and earned them a reputation for energetic live performances. Absolution (2003) saw a further classical influence, with orchestra on tracks such as Butterflies and Hurricanes, and became the first of five consecutive number one albums in the UK. Black Hole and Revelations (2006) included and pop elements, influenced by 1980s bands such as Depeche Mode, are displayed in singles such as A black hole. The album brought Muse wider international success. Resistance (2009) and the 2nd Law (2012) explored the themes of government oppression and civil rebellion and cemented Muse as one of the major stadium acts in the world. Their seventh album, Drones (2015), was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a more difficult rock sound. Their eighth album, Simulation Theory, in the retro style of the 1980s, was released on November 9, 2018. Muse has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, winning the Grammy award for Best Rock Album for Resistance and Drones, two Brit Awards, winning Best British Live Act twice, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012, the band received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Composers, Composers and Authors. Muse has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Musician plays with sound ( 2018) Many Muse songs are recognizable using Bellamy's vibrato, falsetto and melismatic phrasing under the influence of Jeff Buckley. As a guitarist, Bellamy often uses arpeggiator and step-change effects to create a more electronic sound, referring to Jimi Hendrix and Tom Morello as influences. His guitar playing also depends on Latin and Spanish guitar music. Bellamy said he had learned Spanish guitar music that opened up a world of different harmonies and music creation and other passion, describing it as very heavy music, but it has no distortion pedal. As a pianist, Bellamy often uses arpeggios. Bellamy's compositions are often offered or quoted by composers of the late classical and romantic era, such as Sergei Rachmaninoff (in Space Dementia and Butterflies and Hurricanes), Camilla Saint-Saens (in I Belong to You ( Mon Coeur S'ouvre and Ta Voix) and Frederic Chopin (in The United States of Eurasia). Bellamy's lyrics often include political and dystopian themes. Books that influenced lyrical themes in the songs he wrote include George Orwell's 1984, John Perkins' Confession of economic hitman, Michio Kaku's Hyperspace, The 12th Planet by Sithin and Formation of America by Kathy O'Brien. Bellamy's other work co-wrote the credits for the 2009 film The International. He wrote the song Soaked, which appears on Adam Lambert's debut album For Your Entertainment. Bellamy appears as a playable character in the video game Guitar Hero 5, along with the song Plug In Baby. Bellamy contributed to the second album by the New york artist Kimbra The Golden Echo (2014). Since September 2017, Bellamy has been playing bass in tribute band, Jaded Hearts Club. Other members included singer , Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin and drummer Sean Payne. In January 2018, Bellamy joined the Paul McCartney for the cover of Helter Skelter. Bellamy composed his first solo release, Pray for the Throne, a music compilation inspired by Game of Thrones. In May 2020, Bellamy released her second solo song, Tomorrow's World, inspired by life under lock and key during the COVID-19 pandemic. In June, he released an acoustic version of Muse's 1999 song Unintended. Bellamy said that while he could continue to release solo material online, he had no plans to get a record contract or release a solo album: It's just me fiddling alone at home. Since the early 2000s, Bellamy has worked with Manson Guitar Works, based in Devon, to create his electric guitars, and they have produced several branded M-Series models. In 2019, Bellamy's acquired a controlling stake in Manson. In 2020, Bellamy acquired Fender Telecaster, used by Jeff Buckley for his only studio album Grace (1994). Bellamy used it to record the song at the Jaded Hearts Club and said he planned to use it for the next recording with Muse. Bellamy uses the z.Vex Fuzz Factory, which he uses to achieve his signature feedback squeals, for example, in the introduction of Plug in Baby. He said the core of his tone is the Vox AC30. Bellamy often uses Kawai's piano and keyboards live. One of the most commonly used keyboards is the Kawai MP-8, both upright and in grandiose cases. Bellamy and Wolstenholme use touchscreen controllers, often built into their instruments, to control synthesizers and effects, including the Korg Kaoss pad or the Digitech Whammy pedal. Accolades Bellamy ranked 19th on the list of the 50 Greatest Guitarists in Gigwise History. In total, Guitar readers voted for Bellamy's No. 29 in the list of the 100 best guitarists of all time. Bellamy's riff from Plug in Baby was No.13 in total Guitar's poll of the Top 100 Riffs of All Time. In April 2005, Kerrang! The publication put him in 28th place in the survey 50 Sexiest People in the Rock. Cosmopolitan also chose him as the sexiest rocker of 2003 and 2004. NME Magazine recognized him as the 14th greatest rock 'n' roll hero of all time, ahead of John Lennon and Bob Dylan. Bellamy also won the men's sex award at the 2007 NME Awards. He won again in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014 and was nominated in 2012. Bellamy, however, declared himself too short to be sexy (he is 5' 7), and said the award should have been given to Dominic Howard, the Muse drummer. Bellamy also received the Hero of the Year award at the 2012 NME Awards. On September 26, 2008, the University of Plymouth awarded Muse members an honorary doctorate for their work in music. In January 2010, Bellamy was named guitarist of the Decade and was proclaimed the Hendrix of His Generation. Guinness World Records 2010 Bellamy's shoved holding the world record for most guitars pitched on tour. His record, 140, was set during the Absolution tour. In April 2010, Bellamy was named the eighth best frontman of all time by readers of the magazine Z. In December 2010, MusicRadar readers voted for Bellamy, the 9th largest vocalist of all time. In 2010, a BBC Radio 6 poll named Bellamy the best guitarist of the last 30 years. He began dating American actress Kate Hudson in mid-2010. They got engaged in April 2011. Their son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy, was born in July 2011. In December 2014, it was announced that Bellamy and Hudson had ended their engagement. In February 2015, Bellamy began dating American model Elle Evans. They announced their engagement in December 2017 and married on August 10, 2019. In February 2020, Evans announced that she and Bellamy were expecting their first child. Their daughter, Lovella Don Bellamy, was born in June 2020. In February 2017, Bellamy bought the home of tennis player Pete Sampras for $6.9 million. The property is a 6,900- square-foot (640-square-foot) property located in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Bellamy said he was a left-wing freedom fighter. In 2006, he said that he believed the 9/11 attacks were internal work. In 2009, however, he told that he didn't believe it: There's a lot on the Internet that says 9/11 was an internal job. But that's not my faith. On September 17, 2009, Bellamy discussed political influence while reading John Perkins' Confession of economic hitman. He explains that the book helped inspire the song Uprising and expressed his opinion that, in his opinion, lobbyists have undue influence on politicians as well as on the political system. He said that when people become powerful, they often ignore public opinion.
