Note: You must reinstall this mod from Workshop Central in the game after every new patch for the game is released, otherwise the mod will stop working. So if you get a new update from OOTP, remember that you need to reinstall this mod again for it to work. Make sure when you create your league that you go to League Settings>Historical and make sure "Automatically expand league" is enabled. This feature will make sure that teams relocate properly or have their team name change as needed as well as load the new info needed to process the ballpark files. This is enabled by default when creating a league so be sure to leave it enabled to get the most functionality from the mod. At the beginning of each subsequent season there may be new parks but to get them to load you must do the following: Select "League Settings>Edit ballparks>Actions>Auto-import all ballparks". You will be prompted with a screen that should already be in the ballparks folder, so just press select and everything should update. After doing this OOTP will look for any new ballparks that season and it will hopefully say that it updated all of your parks as well anyway. The stadium models were created by Silvam14 and Adion. ABSTRACT Title of Document: [Re]integrating the Stadium Within the City: A Ballpark for Downtown Tampa Justin Allen Cullen Master of Architecture, 2012 Directed By: Professor Garth C. Rockcastle, FAIA Architecture With little exception, Major League Baseball stadiums across the country deprive their cities of valuable space when not in use. These stadiums are especially wasteful if their resource demands are measured against their utilization. Baseball stadiums are currently utilized for only 13% of the total hours of each month during a regular season. Even though these stadiums provide additional uses for their audiences (meeting spaces, weddings, birthdays, etc.) rarely do these events aid the facility’s overall usage during a year. This thesis explores and redevelops the stadium’s interstitial zone between the street and the field. The primary objective is to redefine this zone as a space that functions for both a ballpark and as part of the urban fabric throughout the year. • An Analysis of the American Outdoor Sport Facility: Developing an Ideal Type on the Evolution of Professional Baseball and Football Structures
AN ANALYSIS OF THE AMERICAN OUTDOOR SPORT FACILITY: DEVELOPING AN IDEAL TYPE ON THE EVOLUTION OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL STRUCTURES DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Chad S. Seifried, B.S., M.Ed. * * * * * The Ohio State University 2005 Dissertation Committee: Approved by Professor Donna Pastore, Advisor Professor Melvin Adelman _________________________________ Professor Janet Fink Advisor College of Education Copyright by Chad Seifried 2005 ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical layout of the American baseball and football professional sport facility from 1850 to present and design an ideal-type appropriate for its evolution. Specifically, this study attempts to establish a logical expansion and adaptation of Bale’s Four-Stage Ideal-type on the Evolution of the Modern English Soccer Stadium appropriate for the history of professional baseball and football and that predicts future changes in American sport facilities. In essence, it is the author’s intention to provide a more coherent and comprehensive account of the evolving professional baseball and football sport facility and where it appears to be headed. This investigation concludes eight stages exist concerning the evolution of the professional baseball and football sport facility. Stages one through four primarily appeared before the beginning of the 20th century and existed as temporary structures which were small and cheaply built. Stages five and six materialize as the first permanent professional baseball and football facilities. Stage seven surfaces as a multi-purpose facility which attempted to accommodate both professional football and baseball equally.

INFORMATION TO USERS This was produced from a copy of a document sent to us for microfilming. While the most advanced technological means to photograph and reproduce this document have been used, the quality is heavily dependent upon the quality of the material submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help you understand markings or notations which may appear on this reproduction. 1.The sign or “target” for pages apparently lacking from the document photographed is “Missing Page(s)”. If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting through an image and duplicating adjacent pages to assure you of complete continuity. 2. When an image on the film is obliterated with a round black mark it is an indication that the film inspector noticed either blurred copy because of movement during exposure, or duplicate copy. Unless we meant to delete copyrighted materials that should not have been filmed, you will find a good image of the page in the adjacent frame. 3. When a map, drawing or chart, etc., is part of the material being photo graphed the photographer has followed a definite method in “sectioning” the material. It is customary to begin filming at the upper left hand corner of a large sheet and to continue from left to right in equal sections with small overlaps. If necessary, sectioning is continued again—beginning below the first row and continuing on until complete. 4. For any illustrations that cannot be reproduced satisfactorily by xerography, photographic prints can be purchased at additional cost and tipped into your xerographic copy.

Smith Professor Emeritus of Exercise and Sport Science iii Abstract Stadium construction has occurred at record-breaking level in major metropolitan areas of the United States in the last decade. This dissertation traces media coverage of stadium construction policy throughout the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century, focusing specifically on newspaper coverage of this issue. The hypothesis that media practitioners in smaller metropolitan areas will be more likely to privilege voices supporting new stadium construction is examined. The case study method is utilized and content analysis is employed to determine media coverage trends in major American metropolitan areas. Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are examined as small market cities, while Boston and New York are explored as larger market cities. Evidence is provided that larger markets adopt a more critical position than small market cities regarding new stadium construction in newspaper opinion content. Large market publications are similar to smaller market counterparts in providing greater opportunity for expression to pro-stadium voices.

Summer 1988 Cincinnati Ballparks The Life and Times of the Old Cincinnati Ballparks Richard Miller and Gregory L. Rhodes For the newest of Cincinnati baseball fans, Riverfront Stadium is the only home the Reds have had, the only field where they have seen professional baseball played. But far removed from Riverfront, in time and space, other memories still linger across the city. Riverfront is the last of three generations of baseball parks to host Cincinnati crowds since baseball's first professional nine took the field in the West End in 1869.1 Old wooden parks dominated baseball in Amer- ica from the 1860's until the first decade of the twentieth century. These were baseball's turbulent years, and the parks, like the game itself, were unstable. Like the mining boomtowns of the 1 86o's and '70's, the old parks were built hastily and built on the site of League Park at Findlay Street and West- cheaply of wood. Inside, they were much the same as rowdy ern Avenue, were Cincinnati's contribution to this second western saloons. Fights were common, with fans and players generation of parks. Crosley Field, the old park most mixing it up with each other or themselves, and the umpire Cincinnatians remember best, evolved from Redland Field was everybody's favorite target. The winning team was not in 1934; only the name was changed. There were a few always the best, but the toughest. Like the mining towns, additions and window dressings after 1934, but basically these first wooden parks were short lived and soon deserted.
