26/11: Kasab hanged to death Nearly four years after the 26/11 Mumbai carnage, Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab was hanged in Yerawada Jail in Pune.

MUMBAI: The operation to execute Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab was on Wednesday shrouded in secrecy with even the hangman kept in the dark about the terrorist's identity till the last minute.

Kasab, who has been lodged at Arthur Road prison here ever since his arrest soon after the Mumbai terror attack, was whisked out of his heavily-guarded cell in the intervening night of November 18 and 19, a senior police official said. The operation to execute Ajmal Kasab was "Kasab was escorted by senior officials of crime branch, shrouded in secrecy with even the hangman kept commandos of Quick Response Team (QRT) and ITBP officials, in the dark about the terrorist's identity till the last minute. who have been guarding the terrorist since his arrest in November 2008. Kasab was confined to a special-made bullet and bomb-proof cell at Arthur Road Central prison ever since his arrest in November 2008. If you are not a talibani state then why do u have to do it secretly when he is already under ur custody .. there is no necessity to do it secretly when u dont trust your own people ... as everyone says he should have been hanged in front of all .. he has lived for extra 3 years and at 40 crores .... which is like when divided by the current population of india 1,241,491,960 it is almost 4rs ... u have paid 4rs for the person who has killed our own people ....

Capital punishment should be given (in my opinion) not only to terrorists or mass murderers but also to rapists and other criminals. That is the only way of pest control.

Such hangings of criminals must be videographed and made available for public view to deter potential young criminals from taking things lightly due to instigation and provocation and from becoming emotional victims.
