Eleventh Grade Awards

Award Criteria COKER COLLEGE The designation as Coker College Scholars, which SCHOLARS recognizes students who rank in the top 30 percent of their high school classes and have GP’s above 3.0 and an SAT score above 1100. COLLEGE OF This award is presented to a student who ranks in the top CHARLESTON 10% of their class and shows an interest in a liberal arts SCHOLARS and education. COLUMBIA COLLEGE Named as Columbia College Scholars, which recognizes SCHOLARS young women who rank in the top 25 percent of their high school classes, scored at least 1020 on the SAT, or a 22 on the ACT. CONVERSE Converse presents this award to five selected young SCHOLARS women in the junior class who maintain a 3.2 GPA or and have an 1000 or above on the SAT or a 21 composite score on the ACT. FURMAN JUNIOR Furman awards students who have a 3.5 GPA, made a SCHOLARS 1200 or above on the SAT, a 26 on the ACT., or 120 on the PSAT. Students must show a genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences and be significantly involved in extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership, and community service. LANDER UNIVERSITY Lander University Junior Fellow recipients must rank in JUNIOR FELLOW the top 20% of their junior class and score an 1150 on the SAT, 25 on the ACT, or 115 on the PSAT. This scholarship recognizes juniors who exemplify leadership in both academic and co-curricular activities, PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE Presbyterian College presents this award to students who JUNIOR ACADEMIC after their first semester of their junior in high school, are ACHIEVEMENT AWARD- ranked in the top 10% of their class for the previous 2 ½ PC JUNIOR FELLOW years of academic work and have scored at least 120/1200 on the PSAT/SAT, or 27 on the ACT.

USC AIKEN SCHOLARS USC-Aiken Scholars recognizes juniors who are completing the college preparatory , rank in the top 15 percent of their class, scored at least 1000 on the SAT or 21 on the ACT (21 PLAN), and participate in at least two extracurricular or community activities. UPSTATE JUNIOR USC Upstate, which recognizes five selected students from SCHOLARS the junior class who have scored 100 on the PSAT (or equivalent to 1100 on the SAT), or 24 on the ACT and have an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher and are actively involved in extracurricular activities at school or in the community. WOFFORD SCHOLAR Students must rank in the top 10% of the class. They must have achieved a minimum score of 1250 (critical thinking and math combined) on the PSAT or SAT, or 28 composite on the PLAN or ACT. They must demonstrate qualities of scholarship, leadership, and potential for success. JUNIOR MARSHALS To be considered, the student must have attended Orangeburg Prep in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Eligibility is determined on the basis of a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and is ranked in the top 12 of their class.
