Minihåndballjentene Minihåndballjentene - Et utvalgt «minilandslag» skal forberedes på fremtiden og motiveres for de sunne valgene. Minihåndballjentene er et prosjekt i regi av Gjensidige i samarbeid med NHF, der 16 jenter fra ulike steder i Norge får være maskoter for damelandslaget i Håndball i et år. Alle minihåndballjentene får hver sin mentor i landslaget som vil følge dem gjennom året. De får også være med på spillersamling og landskamp, samt et besøk av sin mentor hjemme på trening med laget sitt. Gjennom dette vil minihåndballjentene forberedes på fremtiden som aktiv håndballspiller og motiveres for de sunne valgene som fremmes gjennom idrett. Jentene er i alderen 9-11 år og har til felles at de ELSKER håndball. Mange av jentene drømmer om å komme på landslaget, og vil jobbe hardt for å nå sine mål. De snakker om å kunne glede lagkamerater og at de vil lære av de beste for å bli bedre. Over 2 000 jenter søkte om å bli Minihåndballjente. - Med aktiviteten «Minihåndballjentene» ønsker vi i Gjensidige å bidra til å øke oppmerksomheten på barneidretten og alle de ildsjelene i støtteapparatet som gjør det mulig. Vi vil løfte frem gleden og positiviteten som er forbundet med lagspill, og ikke minst håper vi å rekruttere flere dyktige spillere til idretten allerede i ung alder, sier sponsorsjef i Gjensidige Stian Grøstad. Uttaket er basert på søknad, ikke håndballferdigheter. Dette gir muligheten ikke bare til de som er best på banen, men til alle håndballinteresserte jenter. Vi ønsker å skape et «sosialt landslag» hvor det viktigste ikke er det sportslige, men å bygge vennskap på tvers av bakgrunn, geografi og sportslig nivå.
