Now in its ninth year, the festival continues to have partnerships very much at its core. This year we are thrilled to be working with Hotel du Vin, Cannizaro House where we will be hosting events including a special evening with Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. We have also partnered with The Wimbledon Foundation on a photographic project celebrating the diversity of Merton’s ‘Millennials’. With Harper Lee very much back in the news we’re also delighted to be screening the classic movie To Kill a Mockingbird and for the first time to be hosting the shortlisted entries for the Wimbledon International Short Film Festival. We thank all our partners, supporters, sponsors, volunteers and all those who attend the BookFest. It wouldn’t happen without you and we do hope you enjoy this year’s programme. We look forward to welcoming you in October for ten magical days on Wimbledon Common! Fiona Razvi (Festival Director) The Festival continues to have a succession of high profile authors and we are also keen to develop and nurture local talent. Projects such as The Short Story Competition and our film programme, both run with the University of Roehampton are a continuing success. We look forward to expanding this area of the Festival. Merton is celebrating 50 years as a London authority in 2015 and the project will give a snapshot of its future through the faces of 50 of its young people nominated by Merton secondary schools.
