Ravenscourt Park The origins of Ravenscourt Park lie in the medieval manor and estate of Palingswick manor, located on the site and first recorded in the 12th century. Its facilities include tennis and basketball courts, a bowling green, an all- weather pitch, a walled garden, multiple play areas and a paddling pool for children. The Dove A prime spot to watch the annual Boat Race, The Dove stands amid the rowing clubs, dog-walkers and benches on the Upper Mall embankment upriver from Hammersmith Bridge. It was once frequented by Charles II and Nell Gwynn and is now enjoyed by drinkers who come to sit on the riverside terrace overlooking the houseboats. Chiswick House Chiswick House is the first and one of the finest examples of neo- Palladian design in England. The third Earl of Burlington who was inspired by the architecture of ancient Rome and built the house as homage to Renaissance architect Palladio. 2010 saw the completion of the restoration to the grounds which returned the landscape back to its appearance in the mid-18th century.
