ZooKeys 965: 73–84. https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.965.54461 Abstract A new genus and species of fossil moth, Miogeometrida chunjenshihi Zhang, Shih & Shih, gen. et sp. nov., assigned to Geometridae, is described from Miocene Dominican amber dating from 15–20 Mya. The new genus is characterized by the forewing without a fovea, R1 not anastomosing with Sc, no areole formed by veins R1 and Rs, R1 and Rs1 completely coincident, M2 arising midway between M1 and M3, anal veins 1A and 2A fused for their entire lengths; and the hind wing with Rs running close to Sc + R1 and M2 absent. -

Phrantela Iredale, 1943 Diagnostic features Shell pupiform to conic to trochiform, small to medium size for family (between about 1.7 and 7.0 mm in maximum dimension). Periostracum thin to well developed, colourless to dark brown. Teleoconch sculpture usually of faint, prosocline growth lines, weak spiral threads sometimes present; periphery of last whorl usually evenly rounded, sometimes subangled, rarely sharply angled. Aperture ovate, inner lip thin and narrow, columellar swelling typically absent (weakly developed in one taxon). Outer lip thin, slightly opisthocline to prosocline. Umbilicus wide to small, or closed and represented by chink. Operculum oval, thin, transparent pale yellow, simple, with eccentric nucleus. Bursa copulatrix in the female genital system reaches to the posterior pallial wall [or (rarely) almost reaches it or extends into the pallial roof] and has the duct emerging from the ventro-posterior comer. This is one of the main anatomical features that distinguishes this taxon from Beddomeia. The pallial genital ducts in both males and females are thinner in section than in Beddomeia and the female genital opening is typically slit-like, rather than a short, pore-like opening. Generally a posterior pallial tentacle is present. Wildlife Trade Operation Proposal – Queen of Ants 1. Title and Introduction 1.1/1.2 Scientific and Common Names Please refer to Attachment A, outlining the ant species subject to harvest and the expected annual harvest quota, which will not be exceeded. 1.3 Location of harvest Harvest will be conducted on privately owned land, non-protected public spaces such as footpaths, roads and parks in Victoria and from other approved Wildlife Trade Operations. Taxa not found in Victoria will be legally sourced from other approved WTOs or collected by Queen of Ants’ representatives from unprotected areas. This may include public spaces such as roadsides and unprotected council parks, and other property privately owned by the representatives. 1.4 Description of what is being harvested Please refer to Attachment A for an outline of the taxa to be harvested. The harvest is of live adult queen ants which are newly mated. 1.5 Is the species protected under State or Federal legislation Ants are non-listed invertebrates and are as such unprotected under Victorian and other State Legislation. Under Federal legislation the only protection to these species relates to the export of native wildlife, which this application seeks to satisfy. No species listed under the EPBC Act as threatened (excluding the conservation dependent category) or listed as endangered, vulnerable or least concern under Victorian legislation will be harvested. 2. Statement of general goal/aims The applicant has recently begun trading queen ants throughout Victoria as a personal hobby and has received strong overseas interest for the species of ants found. -

Zoological Studies (2015) 54:58 DOI 10.1186/s40555-015-0136-5 RESEARCH Open Access A new species of Notogynaphallia (Platyhelminthes, Geoplanidae) extends the known distribution of land planarians in Chacoan province (Chacoan subregion), South America Lisandro Negrete1,2, Ana Maria Leal-Zanchet3 and Francisco Brusa1,2* Abstract Background: The subfamily Geoplaninae (Geoplanidae) includes land planarian species of the Neotropical Region. In Argentina, the knowledge about land planarian diversity is still incipient, although this has recently increased mainly in the Atlantic Forest ecosystem. However, other regions like Chacoan forests remain virtually unexplored. Results: In this paper, we describe a new species of the genus Notogynaphallia of the Chacoan subregion. This species is characterized by a black pigmentation on the dorsum and a dark grey ventral surface. The eyes with clear halos extend to the dorsal surface. The pharynx is cylindrical. The main features of the reproductive system involve testes anterior to the ovaries, prostatic vesicle intrabulbar (with a tubular proximal portion and a globose distal portion) opening broadly in a richly folded male atrium, common glandular ovovitelline duct and female genital canal dorso-anteriorly flexed constituting a “C”, female atrium tubular proximally and widening distally. Conclusions: This is the first report of the genus Notogynaphallia in Argentina (Chacoan subregion, Neotropical Region) which increases its geographic distribution in South America. Also, as a consequence of features observed in species of the genus, we propose an emendation of the generic diagnosis. Phrantela marginata (Petterd, 1889) Diagnostic features The shell of P. marginata is narrower than nearly all other species and has a relativelysmaller last whorl than any other species.This species is generally similar to P. annamurrayae and P. conica [1] [2] which all have a long, narrow penis with a narrow base and an undulating penial duct. Egg capsules unknown but probably like those of another species of Phrantela; small, with single embryo, and covered in coarse sand grains. Development direct. Distribution This species is known from a few localities in a small area along Thirteen Mile Creek, a tributary of the Heazlewood River, northwest Tasmania. Waterloo Urban and Industrial Expansion Flora and Fauna Survey
Shire of Dardanup Waterloo Urban and Industrial Expansion Flora and Fauna Survey March 2015 Executive summary This report is subject to, and must be read in conjunction with, the limitations set out in Section 1.4 and the assumptions and qualifications contained throughout the Report. The Greater Bunbury Strategy and Structure Plan identified a potential significant urban expansion area located to the east of the Eaton locality and an industrial expansion area in Waterloo, in the Shire of Dardanup. The Shire of Dardanup (the Shire) and the Department of Planning have commenced preparation of District Structure Plans (DSP) for the urban expansion area and the industrial expansion area. The DSP will be informed by several technical studies including flora and fauna surveys. The Shire has commissioned GHD Pty Ltd (GHD) to undertake a flora and fauna survey and reporting for the Project. The Project Area is situated in the locality of Waterloo in the Shire of Dardanup. The Project Area includes the urban development area to the north of the South- west Highway (SWH) and the industrial development area to the south of the SWH. GHD undertook a desktop assessment of the Project Area and a flora and fauna field assessment with the first phase conducted from 13 to 14 August, 2014 and the second phase conducted from 29 to 31 October 2014. The purpose of this assessment was to identify the parts of the Project Area that have high, moderate and low ecological values so that the Shire can develop the DSP in consideration of these ecological values. This assessment identified the biological features of the Project Area and the key results are as follows.
