Nick Jones enters his first season as tight ends coach after six years at Coastal Carolina. He graduated from 2017 STANDINGS Wake Forest in 2008. Chip Vaughn is in his first year as the secondary coach and comes to the Mountain Division Academy from Fayetteville State. Brian Knorr returns for his third stint with the Falcons. He will Team MW All Games be a defensive assistant. Knorr coached at Arizona last season. He previously was the assistant Boise State 7-1 11-3 head coach and inside linebackers coach in 2007, outside linebackers and safties coach from Wyoming 5-3 8-5 2005-06 and was the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant from 1992-94. The 20 wins is the best four-year mark Gildan New Mexico Bowl in school history, breaking the record of 19 set from 1982-85 and 1998-2001 when the program Marshall 31, Colorado State 28 went 19-4 those years in Falcon Stadium. The Falcons were 19-6 from 2009-12. Air Force set a record for the best three-year run from 2014-16 with a 17-1 record, breaking the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl mark of 15-2 from 1983-85. The Falcons were 14-3 from 1998-2000 and 1997-99 and 14-5 from Army 42, San Diego State 35 2009-11 to round out the top five marks in school history. Th e Falcons defeated South Alabama, 45-21, in the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tucson, Arizona. Air Force scored 42 unanswered points to earn its 12th bowl win in school history. Quarterback Arion Worthman and safety Weston Steelhammer earned off ensive and defensive player of the game honors. Air Force won its record 20th Commander-in- Chief’s Trophy by defeating Navy (28-14) on Oct. 1 at Falcon Stadium and Army (31-12) on Nov. 5 at West Point. Air Force has won four CIC Tro- phies in the past seven years (2010, 2011, 2014 and 2016). Th e Falcons’ made its 20th visit to the White House, more than any other professional or college team since 1980, and presented the trophy to Presi- dent Donald Trump. Th e Air Force football team earned NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) recognition for the eighth straight season. Th e football program (980) was hon- ored for being in the top 10 percent of their sports for all NCAA programs in Division I for APR. Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun also earned a 985 coaches APR mark which marks his ninth consecutive year above the national average for Divi- sion I programs.
