If I browse the Play Store, using my mobile data network, then the Play Store always asks me if I want to download the app over WiFi because it is a very large app. Whether I tick or untick the box to use WiFi for the download, doesn't matter, the result stays the same : my phone waits for a WiFi connection. My phone does this for almost every app. It only allows me to download apps under 1MB or something to be downloaded using the mobile data network. How can I increase this limit? You should try directly from TOOLS folder (first screen if you haven't moved it), Inside the folder select DOWNLOAD, tap GEAR icon on top right. you should be able to set download to unlimited there. How about with mi4? Please give solution. kokwon. Members. Same fix as posted by members above - this definitely works for MI phone. I have personally tried it . It got nothing to do with play store setting . setting is under MI phone "download" icon. this is an easy fix, and it can be found by going to the Downloads app. Once in here click the little gear icon on the top right of the app to enter the settings for the app, and you’ll find the data usage slider right there. This controls all data usage and downloads on a system level, and I’ve found that even with WiFi on it will often restrict your downloads until it feels confident that you aren’t using a metered cell data connection. This was even the case with hotspots for me, as it assumed that was actually a metered cell data connection and wouldn’t allow me to download anything. Setting this to a more reasonable limit than 1MB is great, but if you want to disable it altogether you can just change it to unlimited. Now you should be able to download anything you want on any connection that makes you feel good, so get to it! Unable to download apps from google playstore via wifi. I assure that the problem is not with the device. It have lots of memory space, so its not insufficient-memory error. And apps can be downloaded in mobile data. And why would anyone want to live without Google? I've been using a lot of different custom ROMs on my devices, so far the two best: plain Cyanogenmod 11 snapshot on the Nexus 4[^1], and MIUI 2.3.2 on the HTC Desire G7[^2]. All the others ( MUIU 5, MIUI 6 unofficial, AOKP, Kaos, Slim, etc ) were either ugly, unusable, too strange or exceptionally problematic on battery life. For a long time, the first step for me was to install the Google Apps, gapps packages for Plays Store, Maps, and so on, but lately they require so much rights on the phone that I started to have a bad taste about them. Then I started to look for alternatives. 1 of 5 So, what to replace with what? Play Store I've been using F-Droid[^3] as my primary app store for a while now, but since it's strictly Free Software[^4] store only, sometimes there's just no app present for your needs; aptoide[^5] comes very handy in that cases. Hangouts I never liked Hangouts since the move from Gtalk although for a little while it was exceptional for video - I guess it ended when the mass started to use it in replacement of Skype and its recent suckyness. For chat only, check out: ChatSecure[^6], Conversations[^7] or Xabber[^8]. All of them is good for Gtalk-like, oldschool client and though Facebook can be configured as XMPP as well, I'd recommend Xabber for that, the other two is a bit flaky with Facebook.
