FAQs What is Henley Business School Doctoral Research Conference? The Henley Business School Doctoral Research Conference is a conference for doctoral students, from the PhD programmes and the Doctor of Business Administration Programme, performing their research at one of the 6 departments at Henley Business School. When does the conference take place? The conference is scheduled for September 22, 2021, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Who can present at the conference? This is a conference mainly for doctoral students, from the PhD and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programmes, under Henley Business School. Students whose research push the boundaries of knowledge to improve industry practice and/or policies are highly welcomed. How do I register to present at the conference? Registration to present at the conference can be done via email. You may choose to participate either by presenting a paper or a poster. I do not want to present; can I still attend the event? Yes, you can attend the conference (with no charge thanks to our sponsors) and see all the presentations and posters. Besides you will benefit expanding your network meeting academics, practitioners and other researchers. Please, register as soon as possible at https://forms.office.com/r/C1RueYaJsp or scan the QR code provided. What are the requirements to participate? For specific requirements of your submission, please refer to the "Criteria and Submission Guidelines" under the "Call for Papers". All submissions MUST be sent to [email protected]. On the day of the conference, for the paper presentation, only PowerPoint is acceptable. For poster presentation, please either send your poster in the size of a A4 paper to us for printing or use PowerPoint, whichever is more convenient to you. What are the submission dates? All the important dates are provided below. Abstract and poster submission August 15 Register as a conference attendee/RSVP August 16 Decisions on abstracts and posters September 5 Finished poster submission September 10 Full presentation submission deadline September 15 Conference date September 22 How can I benefit from participating at the conference? - The winner of the presentation would be awarded £1,000 and the winner of the poster session would receive £500. Awards are provided by Thames Water to support new talent. - You would also have an opportunity to receive a valuable feedback (on your presentation or poster) from leading academics and business professionals and practice your presentation skills. - In addition, all the presenters will receive a Diploma of Participation for their contribution to the conference. Is there any registration fee to participate? With the generous support from Henley Business School (Germany), LIFE Management Consulting, Business Club Hamburg and Thames Water, all attendees and presenters are exempt of to pay any registration fee. What are the current COVID safety measures in University of Reading? Protecting the safety of our community is our top priority. We have therefore decided to take a measured approach and to keep many control measures in place for the time being, with a further review date set for late August. So, from Monday 19 July, until the review point in August, the following will apply: Social distancing Social distancing in all indoor areas on campus will remain at 2 metres. All presenting will to be undertaken at ‘1m+’ with all current control measures in place (such as wearing a face covering). We will adhere to the University of Reading guidance, and will update accordingly Face coverings We continue to encourage wearing the face coverings in all shared indoor areas. If you are one of the presenters but experiencing any of the main symptoms of COVID- 19, you must not attend the conference in person. The conference will be held in hybrid mode (face-to-face and online). The venue for the conference is Henley Business School - Greenlands Campus, Henley-on-Thames and Zoom will be used as our online platform. How can I get to the Greenlands Campus? You may choose the following ways to attend the conference in person: By coach You may choose to take our coach which will depart at 8:30 am from the Henley Business School - Whiteknight Campus and Reading Train Station. If you opt this option, you need to register at https://forms.office.com/r/C1RueYaJsp or scan the QR code provided before. By taxi The easiest way to get to the Greenlands campus from Twyford, High Wycombe or Henley is by taxi. By car If you choose to drive, the turning into the Greenlands site is quite sharp. It can be identified by a small white gatehouse. - Approaching from Marlow (A4155) The main Business School entrance is on the left approximately 1 mile after the speed de-restriction sign as you leave Mill End. - Approaching from Henley: Follow the signs for Marlow (A4155). The Business School is situated on the right approximately 2 miles outside Henley. Who are the panel members? The panel members are highly esteemed professors and leading business professionals from different universities whose research have astonishing impacts and contributions to both academia and industries. The panel will review and assess all submissions, both presentation of papers and posters, and announce winners. What is covered in the conference? The conference will cover the lunch, refreshments and arranged transportation by coach (please, register for this option via link or QR code provided before). .
