Report problems with download to [email protected] PS:T Unfinished Business - Reloaded is a mod for Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition , created by Argent77. Description: This mod is a continuation of Qwinn's original PS:T Unfinished Business (PST-UB), based on version 4.12. It has been completely overhauled and made compatible with Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition in addition to classic Planescape: Torment. 1. All Recommended PS:T Unfinished Business Components. A convenience option that installs all components except "Expanded Deionarra's Truth Mod" and "Restored Item Cheats (Not Recommended)" 2. Restored Able Ponder-Thought Research. Completes a number of subjects Able Ponder-Thought will conduct research on. 3. Restored More Morte Mortuary Moments. Restores a bit of dialog for Morte in the Mortuary, including a more detailed introduction dialog. 4. Restored Candlestick Quest. Restores a quest in the Buried Village. 5. Restored Deionarra's Truth Conversations. Restores several dialog options regarding Deionarra's fate which are in line with what the player can know at that point in the game. A more complete expansion can be installed by the component "Expanded Deionarra's Truth Mod" below. 6. Restored Pendant of Yemeth Quest. Restores a quest involving six actors over two different areas, mostly in or near the Smoldering Corpse Bar. To start it, talk to Ratbone in Ragpicker's Square. 7. Restored Elyce & Company Quest. Restores Elyce, her brother and her boyfriend to the game, and there is a small quest involved. 8. Restored Curst Citizens. Restores seven cool new Curst Citizens with interesting dialogs. 9. Restored Curst Prisoners. Adds 9 more prisoners with their own dialogs to the (originally very sparsely populated) Curst prison. 10. Restored Carl Parfidor. In the original game, you can hire someone to kill Carl Parfidor, but you can never actually meet him. Now you can! 11. Restored Alley of Dangerous Angles Thugs. Restores some dialogs and scripts, so that the thugs in the Alley are actually aware of events unfolding around them. 12. Restored Morte & Ingress's Teeth Banter. Restores a very amusing (non-voiced) banter between yourself, Morte and Ingress's Teeth. Before Morte can use the teeth, you will need to use them with Morte nearby. 13. Restored Items. Restores the Fiend's Teeth, Spiked Gauntlets, Gauntlets of Rending, the Eye of Vecna, Devil's Due and the Chaos Feather. 14. Restored Party Comments and Banters. Restores 27 fully voiced flirts between Morte and female zombies, 15 new and entertaining fully voiced banters between various PC's, a new comment by Grace, a new soundtrack for the Smoldering Corpse Bar, and talking with your party members will now play that character's theme music, including a new track for Morte. 15. Restored Mebbeth. Restores two significant orphaned blocks of Mebbeth's dialog. 16. Restored Lower Ward Encounters. Restores 9 creatures to the main Lower Ward area, 6 creatures around Deran, the slave auctioneer and two characters near where Lenny hangs out. 17. Restored Bestiary Entries. Restores descriptions for a number of bestiary entries. It also adds a new alu-fiend entry for Vrischika, that has been improved to match the other bestiary images. Finally, the bestiary image of the TO will change from a shadowy figure to a glowing version at a point in the plot. 18. Restored Lothar's Abode. Restores guard creatures and minor treasure to Lothar's abode in the Lower Ward, that are found nowhere else in the game. 19. Expanded Deionarra's Truth Mod. Adds a great deal of new content (including 180 new lines of dialogue) that will allow the player to find out her fate before it becomes too late to do anything about it. Once the new content has been played, about 30-40 more lines of original dialogue will become accessible. 20. Restored Item Cheats (Not Recommended) Makes two cheat items available to the player and restores their functions: the "Sword of Wh'ynn" - aka "The Cheater's Blade", and "The Tome o' Cheats".

  • Planescape: Torment Guide
Presents an Unofficial Guide to: Planescape: Torment By Samuel Brown Baker, II Brought to you by: Introduction This is not a complete walkthrough of Planescape: Torment. Short of playing the game several times as different classes, exhaustively going through every dialog path with every possible set of stats, spending months of time to do so, there’s no way to do that. This is how I played through the game, step by step. I won't even say it is the best way. I sometimes missed and forgot things and had to come back to them. So do what you want to do, play how you want to play. It's your game. The conversation paths that I took playing the game are presented here as a narrative and will not necessarily match the choices on screen or the responses word for word and frequently differ in tense. They are also truncated and condensed where I could do so without spoiling the flow of the tale. However in every case where a conversational choice is made I included key phrases so that someone reading along could easily tell which path I followed. There are conversations that took place that I did not include because they offered no new information or experience, or were short and without branches. Planescape is the most amazing computer role-playing game I've ever had the pleasure of playing. In many respects I feel it is the first CRPG that is really worthy of the name. I found myself thinking about how I felt about people and actions in the course of play, being drawn further into the game and the persona of my character the longer I played.

  • Planescape: Torment Walkthrough by Stefanos Koutsoukos
Planescape: Torment Walkthrough by Stefanos Koutsoukos Greetings adventurers!!! We are well met once again, even though we may walk the shadows of Sigil this time around! ‘Tis a strange, yet most wonderful world that the good folks at Black Isle Studios have put together for us to enjoy. Personally, I consider Torment the BEST RPG I’ve ever experienced, far surpassing Baldur’s Gate and even the divine Fallout series. And why is that, I hear you ask? Simply, because Torment takes the best elements of Fallout and combines them with the very best of Baldur’s Gate!!!! But enough with the chatter! Some big, scarred and tattooed guy has just risen (Am I Dead?) in the strangest of places.... Character Generation and Gameplay Torment is quite different -in regard to the character generation system that is- than any other RPG that ever graced the PC. First of all, you don’t get to choose a class. You start out as a fighter, but if you wish, you can become a Mage or a Thief as the game progresses. You start out at Level 3 with 21 points to add to your basic attributes. CAUTION HERE! You probably have an idea of what kind of character you’ll want to be in the game (Once again, I did a paladin style fighter) so make sure that you raise the relevant ability/abilities now. Strength is quite important for fighters, Dexterity is also important to a fighter but benefits the Thief most of all, high intelligence is a must if you intend on practicing The Art, but also gives you more conversation options and allows you to outsmart people on a regular basis (and in this game it will help you gain memories faster, meaning that your skills will improve faster under the right conditions).

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Manual Table of Contents Welcome from Chris Avellone I: Introduction II: Character Generation III: The Interface IV: Gameplay V: Life and Death in Planescape VI: The Planes VII: Walkthrough VIII: Manual Credits Welcome from Chris Avellone Welcome to Sigil, the City of Doors... ...and maybe for some of you, like me - welcome back! It's been almost twenty years since the first edition of Planescape: Torment™ was released. It was an uncertain time, and I was afraid it would be poorly-received and the last title I'd ever work on. To my surprise, it gathered a great deal of attention and support from the RPG community, some fans of CRPGs, others who were fans of the Wizards of the Coast's campaign setting, and often, players who were a blend of both. If not familiar with it already, you're in for a treat. Planescape™ is Wizards' fascinating outlook on the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse. Inhabitants wage war, not for territory, but for belief... for what you believe creates reality. The "cant" (the language, slang of Planescape) can be a surprise to newcomers, but you'll pick it up fast. And you'll find friends, companions, and allies across the planes willing to join you on your journey as the Nameless One... and to discover why you cannot die. I never thought I'd have the chance to revisit Sigil, but when Beamdog laid out their plans for an Enhanced Edition and the chance to polish and re-release the original for another generation of gamers, I couldn't say no (and embarrassingly enough, would also allow me to fix countless text errors that had made it into the original - let's hear it for editors, shall we? They are often overlooked in our industry, even in RPGs.).

PLANESCAPE: TORMENT Original text by Chris Avellone and Colin McComb Novelization by Rhyss Hess Original text by Chris Avellone and Colin McComb Novelization by Rhyss Hess This novel has been composed from text copied from the computer game Planescape: Torment by Black Isle Studios. It was turned into a novel by Rhyss Hess, and typeset by Lucian Wischik. (There is a separate novel called just “Torment”, based on the plot and characters of the computer game, and written by Ray and Valerie Vallesse). Rhyss writes: “Even after playing Planescape: Torment several times, I found I was still interested in going back and replaying some scenes, just to read through the excellent dialog again. What I really would have liked would have been a listing of the dialogs in the game, which brought about the project you are reading here.” “I decided not to literally pull the dialog trees from the game, since in a linear format like this it would have made for very awkward reading. Instead, I followed one path through the game, creating a written story from the source material. The quoted speech, along with much of the other material, is taken directly from the game and only lightly edited.” “It is possible to read the entire, continuous story. I have suppressed much of the combat in the game to concentrate on the story and the interaction with the characters, and some sections and characters have been entirely omitted. Even so, the entire document runs to over 150,000 words. It is also possible to skip to certain sections, re-reading selected portions

  • Games with Words: Textual Representation in the Wake of Graphical Realism in Videogames
Games with Words: Textual Representation in the Wake of Graphical Realism in Videogames by Michael Hancock A thesis presented to the University of Waterloo in fulfillment of the thesis requirement for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in English Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, 2015 ©Michael Hancock 2015 Author’s Declaration I hereby declare that I am the sole author of this thesis. This is a true copy of the thesis, including any required final revisions, as accepted by my examiners. I understand that my thesis may be made electronically available to the public. ii Abstract Much of the videogame industry is based around a model of technological progress, whereby developers, individual videogames, and videogame platforms are lauded as superior based on their engagement with the latest, cutting edge forms of technology. As a direct consequence of this focus, sophisticated graphic-based representations are often employed as a yardstick for technological superiority, as it is a form of advancement that can be discerned by the naked eye. The focus on graphics has a number of consequences: it presents past videogames as inferior realizations that pale before more modern approaches; it favors image-based representation over other representational forms such as text; it enters videogames into a broader, ongoing debate in Western culture regarding mimesis and representations of reality that pit image and text against each other. An alternative to the graphic-dominated history of videogames is a variantological approach, in which marginalized and past forms of representation are not seen as dead ends and failures, but as variants that offer alternative perspectives.
