Maya played at OU in 2015 and 2016, earning Second Team All-KCAC honors. Before coming to OU, he was on the coaching staff of the Rio Hondo College men’s soccer team in Whittier, Calif. He was a volunteer goalkeeper coach in 2014. Maya contributed to the organization of the team’s training, while also working with the goalkeepers and providing feedback to the coaching staff. As a member of the Rio Hondo College men’s soccer team, Maya was the team captain, was named Foothill Conference “Player of the Year,” earned Team MVP honors, and received the Coaches Award recognizing hard work and dedication. Maya graduated from Ottawa University in 2017 with a degree in exercise science, concentrating in personal training/strength and conditioning.
