06 INTRODUCTION

Cadet College Chakwal has been built to meet the educational requirements of this area with centuries-old culture and history replete with military achievements. Chakwal is the hometown of the majority of our valiant soldiers and officers. CCC has made a modest attempt to provide the requisite educational facilities to the budding heirs of this time- honoured martial area. CCC provides the basic education to the cadets to enter the prestigious professional institutions, be it armed forces or civil. The cadets will be able to grasp all the necessary ingredients to make the successful aspirants for a commission in the prestigious Armed Forces or other institutions of excellence. CCC is an English Medium with excellent hostel facilities within the campus. It prepares Cadets for the Secondary (Matriculation) and Higher Certificate examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate & Rawalpindi and the Oxford 'O' level and 'A' level examination conducted by the British Council. At CCC academic achievements and personality growth are given equal importance.

The institute is a residential Public School modeled on the lines of Cadet College. It has qualified and trained teaching faculty with an ideal student-teacher ratio. Besides, guest speakers from different professions are invited to deliver lectures on various topics and to share their life experience with cadets. It also provides free sports.

11 ADMISSION POLICY

The college will accept cadets in the sixth grade with a minimum of five years of from an authorized institute. Students will be admitted purely on open merit. A written test followed by an interview will be conducted. Successful students will go through a medical checkup. Admission form is stapled inside the prospectus. Further information can be obtained from the College Admin Office on any working day during working hours. TESTING CRITERIA Applications for admission will be invited through press by the college. Admission will be decided on merit, worked out as follows: Written Test Oral Test/interview Total Marks 80% 20% 100%

CLASS VI TO VII Written test for this level will include, English, Urdu, General Knowledge and Mathematics. Interview will be a general supplementary test. Medical test to determine overall health of the student will also be conducted. Written test is conducted in February and classes start from 1st March each year.

CLASS VIII TO IX Students obtaining 70% or above marks can appear in test. The written test for secondary classes will comprise English, Urdu, General Science and Mathematics, with the usual interview and medical checkup. Written test is conducted in February and classes start from 1st March each year.

CCC MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Merit Scholarships are awarded to the top three position holders of each Board Examinations. These scholarships are for two years of uninterrupted studies with full course load and are equal to the full tuition fee. Continuation of merit scholarships are subject to maintaining Semester and Annual Results.

Library

The college offers a large well-equipped library of its own. There is a sufficient collection of books covering a good deal of subjects of students' interest and benefit. Moreover, the library offers books of short stories, novels and general knowledge to inculcate the habit of reading among the students. The library provides a peaceful study environment in a well- equipped spacious hall.

Computer Laboratory

This is the age of technology. No nation can even think of making progress without computer. A high-tech, well-equipped computer lab with internet facility has been established. Each student will have a separate computer. Highly qualified staff in computer technology has been appointed to equip the students with computer literacy.

Laboratories

The college is well-equipped with fully furnished, dustless, gleaming, spacious and clean science laboratories. The latest equipment has been arranged and installed in these laboratories.

Cadet Mess

College has a spacious mess where cadets dine during meal timings, Sufficient space and staff is incorporated to provide food to the cadets. A faculty member is incharge of Dinning hall and is termed as the Messing Officer. The Messing Officer along with the committee ensures provision of meals according to an approved menu.

College Canteen

There is the availability of a finely built canteen to give refreshment to students and staff. Fresh items of food, tea and cold drinks are served in quite hygienic conditions.

Medical Facilities

The College has its own dispensary stocked with necessary medicines and equipment. A medical specialist is hired on daily terms from DHQ Hospital Chakwal. A nursing assistant has to be present in the college round the clock to look after minor diseases of the students. Regular first aid is provided to the students in the college. Patients who require specialized treatment are referred to the DHQ Hospital Chakwal.

Sports

A number of outdoor sports facilities like Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Cricket have been completed whereas a Saddle Club is planned to develop in the near future.

Hostels

Cadets' residential hostels are called houses namely Jinnah House, Iqbal House and Ghaznavi House. Administration of the houses is run by respective House Masters and Assistant House Masters. House Masters are the faculty members who are given additional responsibility of House management. Their accommodation is attached with the respective House to ensure consistent supervision of the cadets. House activity is bound with a prescribed schedule where concerned staff ensures proper mustering of the cadets, dress regulations, discipline, punctuality for classes, games, preparatory periods, rest and prayers etc. Inter-house literary and sports competitions are held to enhance the cadets' individual skills.

Accidents / Mishaps

The college will adopt all possible measures for the safety of the cadets during their stay at the college campus. However, the college shall not be held responsible for any kind of accidents / mishaps causing any kind of physical harm or injury.

Pocket Money

Cadets are not allowed to keep large sums of money. The parents will deposit Rs. 2000/- pm as pocket money with the college administration who will give Rs. 500/- per week to each cadet.

Excess to this amount for travelling and other expenses will be deposited with the College Finance Officer.

24 DISCIPLINE

COLLEGE RULES AND REGULATIONS Admission to the college is granted only on the condition that the cadet will abide by the college rules and regulations as laid down by the college administration from time to time. Any violation thereof will make him liable to expulsion. The college will not be held responsible in case of any illness, accident, disability or death while the cadet is on the roll of the college. A cadet can be expelled from the college on the following grounds: Creating any type of disturbance in the college. Deliberately damaging college property, violating college discipline, using unfair means in examinations, cheating and stealing, containing arms smoking or using narcotics and drugs, insolent with the staff, harassing juniors, immoral of any kind whatsoever, or any other activity. However, there are other punishments i.e extra drill, detention, fine etc. for minor offences. Prohibited Items PROHIBITED ITEMS

Cadets are NOT permitted to keep the following in their possession / House: vTransistor, video games, electric appliances, personal computer, radio, TV set, Walkman set, mobile telephone etc. vUnauthorized medicines/drugs. vMoney and valuables other than authorized pocket money. vWeapons of any kind. vCigarettes, narcotics in any form. vMatches, burners, heaters, etc. vUndesirable printed material. vExplosive / combustible material. vMusical Instruments. 25 DISCIPLINE

OFFENCES LEADING TO EXPULSION Cadets guilty of the following offences are liable to be expelled from the College:

Ø Cheating, lying, stealing, gambling and immoral conduct. Ø Willfully and deliberately damaging the College property. Ø Keeping fire-arms or knives etc. Ø Breaking bounds. Ø Involved in quarreling Ø Found guilty of keeping any of the prohibited items mentioned above DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE: 1. Discipline committee under supervision of the Principal will decide about all the issues related to disciplinary matters and its decision will be unchallengeable. 2. Parents/guardians will not be allowed to interfere in the regulations/decisions framed by the discipline committee. 3. Charge sheet against any cadet found guilty of any offensive activity will be prepared informing parents / guardians within 3 working days Which may result in barring the cadet from re-entry in college or may terminate his/her career in the college. Withdrawal of a Cadet Parents / Guardians who wish to withdraw their son (s)/daughter (s) / ward(s) from the college must notify the administration office and the Principal in writing. The cadet will have to pay full dues for the term during which he is withdrawn. Such withdrawals are entitled to refund of security deposits only. Dues once deposited are NON REFUNDABLE in any case. There is no provision of part adjustment / remission of the amount billed, even if a cadet remains on the college rolls for part of the term.
