We are truly blessed beyond measure. I am pleased to report that we added 19 new endowments in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, increasing our foundation’s net assets to more than $184 million. Our parishes, schools, cemeteries, and ministry agencies benefited from more than $7.4 million in distributions during the year. That money goes a long way in creating a tremendous amount of impact in our archdiocese. These endowments tell a story about how the Catholic faith is being lived throughout central and southern Indiana. It may be an endowment someone started to help their parish or school ministry. Or it may be an endowment that supports outreach to homeless families, seminarian education or educational scholarships for children in need. Behind each of these endowments was someone with a passion for gratefully sharing their God-entrusted gifts with others. In order to foster the mission of Christ and to evangelize in this challenging culture, we need strong, healthy parishes, providing religious education programs, and the formation of our seminarians and deacons. Just about any ministry that you can think of is supported by an endowment or planned gift through our Catholic Community Foundation. As I have traveled throughout the Archdiocese, I have had the opportunity to see LETTER TO THE COMMUNITY LETTER TO firsthand the affect these endowments are having in continuing Christ’s work of teaching, healing and sanctifying all God’s people. Many thanks to you for your contribution to the good works noted in this annual report in support of proclaiming and establishing the Kingdom of God in our archdiocese. By you taking the important step of making a planned gift, you not only leave a legacy for future generations, but you also ensure the vitality of our Church for many years to come. I also want to thank those of you who will take the important step of making a planned gift during this coming year. The Catholic Community Foundation is honored to oversee your legacy. May the Lord bless you! With assurance of my prayers and best wishes, I remain Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Charles C. Thompson Archbishop of Indianapolis Chairman of the Board of Directors Catholic Community Foundation, Inc. 2 ARCHDIOCESAN ENDOWMENT FUNDS Value as of June 30, 2018 - $113,516,468 A Generation of Hope Youth Endowment Fund, Indianapolis (V: $28,839 D: $1,405) Distributions are to be used to provide scholarship money for youth throughout the archdiocese who are in need of financial assistance to attend programs that build leadership skills and spirituality.
