Rosedale Open Match day 17 ======

Call of Cthulhu - Camarilla Divided 2 : 0 Scorers: Nyarlathotep (47.), Shub-Niggurath (11.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Bill the Clueless Brujah, Paige 'Heihei' Duff, Pierre 'Shotgun' Duval As table neighbour games go, this one had a noticeably stronger home team, and with a good start, the Lurking Fear managed to keep both points at Arkham Asylum.

Grunts United - the Ancients 3 : 1 Scorers: Larry Long (72.), Cantrip (15.), Murky Musksmell (27.) ***Mammoth (26.) Penalties: - ***- (1 missed) Anti-football suffers a deserved defeat against medal-chasing Greenskins.

Stranraer Reserves - Really New Bremen Cyberdruids 1 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Samuel (11.) Penalties: 1 (1 missed) ***- (1 missed) Sent off: Juan Iareddi (85.) ***--- Booked: Dean Arman, Heiyu Hoyahamahia, Noah Little, Phil MacRevis ***Dominic 'Victim' Hobson, Malek, Michaela di Vani Clever play by Blues' manager Blagae gains another point; although it was greatly against the run of play. Time is starting to run out for RNBC in catching the medal spots, though...

Sale Savoyards - Lower Tadfield Apocalypse 0 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Chalky (53.) A very even match at The Savoy, but the hometeam had used up their luck, and Chalkys one goal give the Apocalypse a somewhat lucky away win. the Blitzball Team - Saturday Morning FC 4 : 2 Scorers: Botta (35., 39.), Datto (64.), Kimahri (77.) ***Rick Hunter (46.), Caveman (64.) Booked: --- ***Captain Caveman, Fat Albert The 2Ds was the strongest team at Zanarkand Memorial Stadium tonight, but had one really leaky goalie and the Blitzballers capitalised and took both points.

Grorud Grasshuggers - Jedi Order 4 : 1 Scorers: Zim the Invader (20., 44.), Herb (85.), Gir (54.) ***Darth Malek (38.) Booked: Felix Leiter, The Doom Song ***--- The Grasshuggers have established themselves in the upper half of the table, and show the Lightside that there's quite some way to go yet. Maybe there will even be medals for Grorud this year?

Rosedale Open Match day 18 ======

Lower Tadfield Apocalypse - Grorud Grasshuggers 4 : 1 Scorers: Witchfinder Major Saucepan (61., 75.), Pepper (80.), Carmine Zuigiber (68.) ***Zim the Invader (78.) Booked: --- ***Herb The Apocalypse are flattered to be friends of ZiiiiM, are flattered by the scoreline, and has all but claimed this year's gold medals already.

Grunts United - the Blitzball Team 5 : 0 Scorers: Trolluc Troeffel (23., 35., 72.), Fork Fever (3., 89.) ***--- Booked: Defty Metalspike ***--- Another display of power by the Greenskins - the Blitzballers remain mired in the relegation race.

Stranraer Reserves - Sale Savoyards 1 : 6 Scorers: Heiyu Hoyahamahia (39.) ***Hilarian (49., 55.), Sam (4., 82.) Penalties: - ***2 Booked: Juan Iareddi, Mark Miclos, Phil MacRevis, Wayne Sweat ***--- Stranraer Reserves fought hard, and held the Singers to 1-1 by half time, however they had tired themselves out completely for the second half, and the goals just kept pouring in.

Really New Bremen Cyberdruids - Camarilla Divided 0 : 0 Booked: Malek, Tony Stark ***--- As RNBC couldn't convert any of their shots, and Generation X wasn't allowed out of their own half through the match, we get a goalless draw at Rosewood Cemetary. The home team is putting in a strong application for the bad karma crown over time here!

Saturday Morning FC - Jedi Order 4 : 1 Scorers: The Brain (51.), George of the Jungle (25.), Fat Albert (66.), Pinky (47.) ***Mace Windu (89.) Penalties: - ***- (1 missed) Saturday Morning FC aspires towards the top this year, and left little doubt who was the top team in this rather one-sided affair. the Ancients - Call of Cthulhu 2 : 7 Scorers: Mammoth (65.), Eohippus (89.) ***Ghatanothoa (4., 34.), Yig (21., 89.), Nyarlathotep (1., 49.), Shub-Niggurath (78.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Hound of Tindalos, Nyarlathotep Both teams were afraid, but the Lurking Fear is used to that, and used their best scare-mongering tactics in a match they really wanted to win, and did.

Lexington League Match day 17 ======

Monkey Business - Trivial Brief Association 6 : 1 Scorers: Meathook (2., 23., 89.), The SCUMM bar chef (4.), Elaine Marley (20.), Guybrush Threepwood (71.) ***Receiver of Message (63.) Booked: Threeheaded Monkey ***--- Monkey Business hasn't lost a match for ages, and wasn't planning on changing that tonight - an efficient and clear victory over the Shorties lets them keep up in the promotion race.

Marvel Comics - Desassossego Blues 3 : 1 Scorers: Cyclops (3., 24.), Iceman (45.) ***--- Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Iceman, Jean Grey ***Fausto Somewhat surprisingly, the Mutants dominate the match completely, and secure the win with 3 goals in the first half - the Blues were barely allowed to cross the midfield line.

Coventry - Dial Square FC 0 : 6 Scorers: --- ***Ljunberg (6., 9., 63., 78.), Pires (21.), Vieira (68.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Coventry misses their strategy, and thus didn't put up much of a fight; two comfortable points for Dial Square FC.

First Men of Rome - Dead Dino Storage 10 : 1 Scorers: Caligula (8., 34., 70., 74., 79.), Spartacus (63., 74.), Gaius Marius (17., 46.), Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus (13.) ***Transatlantic (45.) Sent off: --- ***Popol Vuh (31.) Booked: Gaius Marius ***The Tangent That's incredible! Two digits worth of goals for the Toga Boys against their table neighbours Dead Dino Storage. Very impressive.

Car Park Rangers - Dangermouse 0 : 4 Scorers: --- ***Penfold (16.), Stiletto (81.), Professor Skwarkenklux (15.), The Fog Monster (11.) Booked: --- ***Count Duckula Dangermouse are still playing in the cup, and get an easy round of warmup against CPR todnight.

Gangsters United - Mishima Zaibatsu 3 : 4 Scorers: Nina Myers (24., 74.), The Joker (1.) ***Roger the Bush Kangaroo (46., 85.), Carlos Alberto (56.), Anna Williams (61.) Booked: --- ***Anna Williams The Mobsters got a good start at Sicilia Stadion, and held onto their game for a 2-0 lead at half time. However, the fighting spirit was strong with the Zaibatsu in second half, and with four goals, they managed to snatch both points away from the Gangsters at the end.

Lexington League Match day 18 ======

Dead Dino Storage - Gangsters United 2 : 8 Scorers: The Flower Kings (21., 45.) ***Dr. Evil (5., 15., 25.), Nina Myers (52., 68., 84.), Tony Soprano (36.), Tony Blundetto (78.) Booked: Popol Ace ***Don Corleone, Dr. Evil, Nina Myers, Tony Soprano The Mobsters were clearly the strongest side in this battle, and underlines it with a full set of 8 goals.

Marvel Comics - Car Park Rangers 6 : 1 Scorers: Cyclops (22., 45., 64.), Jean Grey (84.), Eddy Gordo (9.), Nocturn (7.) ***--- Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine ***--- With mutants against powers, many met good ol' friends, but it seems the better players had gravitated to Marvel Comics - there was little competition for the points.

Coventry - First Men of Rome 5 : 19 Scorers: Onix (6., 49., 75., 87.), Mikey Michaels (9.) ***Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus (6 goal$s), Gaius Marius (3., 7., 24., 36., 40.), Spartacus (18., 23., 43., 66.), Gaius Julius Caesar (13., 70., 73., 78.) Booked: --- ***Titus Flavius Vespasianus the Toga Boys and the Sky Blues bring us quality entertainment, with many goals, lots of play, but in the end, a noticeable skill difference; both points to Rome.

Dial Square FC - Trivial Brief Association 2 : 0 Scorers: Fabregas (19.), Ljunberg (75.) ***--- A little play in it from both sides, but the home team capitalised well on the support of the Plumstead Heroes, and scored a goal in each half while keeping a clean sheet.

Dangermouse - Mishima Zaibatsu 1 : 4 Scorers: --- ***Yoshimitsu (8., 70.), Roger the Bush Kangaroo (88.), Prototype Jack (18.) Penalties: 1 ***- (1 missed) Booked: Count Duckula, Mad Manuel ***Anna Williams, Asuka Kazama, Prototype Jack It was clear both teams really wanted to win, and fought hard for the points here. However, Dangermouse appears to have borrowed Call of Cthulhu's karma for the evening, and although they were significantly stronger, they missed all of 20 shots, and needed a penalty to get a goal at all. Those who heed the call, on the other hand, had little troubles converting a lower expected number of goals into 4, and they get both points.

Desassossego Blues - Monkey Business 2 : 3 Scorers: Fernando Pessoa (34., 79.) ***Augustus DeWaat (56.), The SCUMM bar chef (87.), Elaine Marley (10.) Booked: --- ***Guybrush Threepwood, Herman Toothrot To Desassossego Blues' frustration, Monkey Business just wouldn't stop taking the lead... after 1-0 and 2-1 had been equalized, the SCUMM bar chef gave the Blues' keeper a good serving of grog in a melting mug, and proceeded to bag a 3-2 lead that the Blues didn't have much time to make up for.

Berkeley Conference Match day 17 ======

Odd Athletics - Fluffy Bunny Eaters 1 : 2 Scorers: Odd Nordstoga (16.) ***Snuggles (44.), Fluffles (68.) The Weirdoes slump into terrible form when an easily won game was turned to a loss when the players started relaxing halfway through the match.

Underdogs FC - Super Milk 3 : 2 Scorers: Rolf Heier (30.), Gunnar Hansen (77.), Liam Svensson (9.) ***Milk Boy (14.), White Milk (60.) Booked: Dr. Raven Sable ***--- A fourpointer in the relegation struggle, with the Underdogs having the little extra, allowing them to take the lead with 1-0, then 2-1 and then finally 3-2, which Super Milk never managed to answer.

Lords - Sheffield Thursday 3 : 1 Scorers: Nen Ires (64.), Pizdo Lizec (49.), Bejzi Ukurz (87.) ***Gregg McQueen (27.) Lords win as expected at home against Sheffield Thursday, but 1-3 is not a bad result at all at Sentjane Arena.

Pocket Valley Philosophers - Brazil Star Conquerors 1 : 0 Penalties: 1 (1 missed) ***- Booked: Craig McMillan ***Branco A strategic victory for manager Jorgensen, as he completely outguesses the Brazilians, and take a deserved home win although a penalty was needed to claim the points.

DC Red Hot and Blues - World Ambassadors 1 : 4 Scorers: Jens Flapper (1.) ***Christian Wyatt (10., 53.), Ian Bond (65., 70.) Booked: --- ***Haavard Pettersen, Stanley Kellett The Riblets got the best start possible, with a goal in the first minute. However, the Stabbers' performance paid off, and with four goals throughout the match, they won rather comfortably at Army and Navy Park.

Sleep Wanderers - Batt in Blax 2 : 2 Scorers: Fiddlers Green (80.) ***Hamish Marshall (76.), (17.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: Fiddlers Green, Rom rio ***, A key match for both teams, as Batt in Blax are close to guarantee their promotion, whereas Sleep Wanderers are just barely hanging on with a promotion chance, and a loss today would put them out of it. As it turned out, the away team was somewhat stronger, but the Night Terrors pulled off a draw, and have small chances but no impossible task.

Berkeley Conference Match day 18 ======

Brazil Star Conquerors - Sleep Wanderers 4 : 0 Scorers: Ronaldo (25., 87.), (32.), Rivelino (88.) ***--- Booked: Ronaldo, Zico ***--- Both teams had hoped for the slight chance still remaning of promotion before this weekend, but Brazil lost their hope in the previous game, and takes it out on the Night Terrors - 4-0 and a thorough devastation of the away team's promotion dreams. Better luck next year to both of you!

Underdogs FC - DC Red Hot and Blues 1 : 3 Scorers: Trond R›nningen (45.) ***Michael Kelly (83.), Jorge Pasqualle (49.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Trond R›nningen ***--- With a goal right before half time, the Underdogs got their hopes up, but the Riblets came back in the second half and convinced us all they don't belong in the relegation struggle.

Lords - Pocket Valley Philosophers 7 : 0 Scorers: Pizdo Lizec (30., 42., 81.), Nen Ires (64.), Nes Eri (27.), Tisik Reten (13.) ***--- Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Confucius Lords keep up their perfect home tally against toothless Drunken Thinkers, who spent themselves in the first match of the weekend. The Lords appear certainly promoted - but can they hold on to the top spot?

Sheffield Thursday - Fluffy Bunny Eaters 1 : 0 Scorers: Michael Richard (89.) ***--- A pretty uneventful match, but as the home team wanted the win much more than the Tubbies, they were awarded for their efforts by a goal in the second last minute.

World Ambassadors - Batt in Blax 3 : 2 Scorers: John Milardovic (7.), Russ Bynum (18.) ***Mark Richardson (64.), (78.) Penalties: 1 (1 missed) ***- Booked: Stanley Kellett ***Mark Richardson The winner of the match would be able to challenge the Lords for the Berkeley crown, and the Stabbers convincingly used their home advantage to gain the little advantage between two otherwise almost identical teams.

Super Milk - Odd Athletics 2 : 4 Scorers: Milk Boy (87.), Milk with Coffee (39.) ***Odd Falkum (20., 48.), Odd Harald Rex (83.), Odd Iversen (38.) Booked: --- ***Odd Gunnar Sollie, Odd Iversen Following a poor performance at Strangeworld, the Weirdoes get their second away win of the season, with a rather convincing vincing of the invincible.

Kirkwood Showdown Match day 17 ======

Greensleeves United - Ajax 2 : 2 Scorers: Kenny Dixon (48.), Glob (73.) ***Trabelsi (36.), Mitea (14.) Booked: Ralph Schumacher ***Trabelsi, van Mul The Greensleeves outplays Ajax at Windsor Great Park, but with their bad luck, they only manage a 2-2 draw. Bad luck could come at worse times though; with their poor start of the season, promotion wasn't going to happen this year anyway. At least they show they can play football!

Dummys - Erkrath Gladiators 1 : 0 Scorers: Stains (15.) ***--- The Dummys attempted to field two Stains, but had to do with one - which scored the match's only goal and kept both points with the Geeky Dummys.

Andeby FK - Flaaklypa FK 1 : 0 Scorers: Klaus Knegg (88.) ***--- Booked: Fean Forwarder, Klaus Knegg ***Rudolf Blodstrupmoen The brothers slug it out evenly for a long, hard match, but on one of the match's very few chances, Klaus Knegg surges forward and give the Ducks a one-goal win!

March of the Black Queen - Real Johto 3 : 4 Scorers: (43.), (79.), Luca Toni (6.) ***Lickitung (15., 23., 47.), Charmander (61.) Booked: --- ***Pikachu The Black Knights opened convincingly, and also got the first goal by Luca Toni, but it soon became apparent it was Real Johto's lucky day - the home team was stronger, but with excellent conversion of their chances, the Pocket Monsters claim both points and remain a strong promotion candidate.

Rosedale Quest - the Trumpet Bums 2 : 0 Scorers: Yellow Goal Elemental (58., 72.) ***--- Booked: --- ***William Wettone One of those rare matches where the result exactly matches the statistical average. Trumpet Bums remain second last, but have four points of safety margin to the Bushies.

Republican Party - Twin Peaks Owls 0 : 5 Scorers: --- ***Dale Cooper (40.), Audrey Horne (5.), Brian (47.), Oliver Queen (36.), Nadine Hurley (62.) With a bunch of suspensions, and a manager having all but given up and thus not being present, the Bushies are rolled over by the Bookhouse Boys at the Oval... or Owl... Office.

Kirkwood Showdown Match day 18 ======

Real Johto - Republican Party 12 : 1 Scorers: Adam Young (6 goal$s), Squirtle (46., 73., 80.), Ozzy 'Puppet' Mandrill (88.), Vileplume (60.), Treecko (36.) ***Tom Ridge (33.) In the absence of their manager, Tom Ridge scores a goal, whereas Real Johto gets a full four this weekend and continue their promotion chase.

Dummys - Rosedale Quest 1 : 2 Scorers: Infrared Banana (33.) ***Corner Flag Magi (24., 40.) Booked: --- ***Golden Goblin Oopsie, the Wandering Enraged Mommy Fungus fed three points to the 3:1 monster (bad GM, do NOT feed the 3:1 monster!!), but was lucky and got an undeserved away win. Dummys appear to struggle a little with their team lineup, with Stains' inability to clone himself, and then attempting to replace one of them (which one?) with a new player!

Andeby FK - March of the Black Queen 0 : 0 Booked: --- *** A rather close match with Andeby FK being slightly closer to scoring, but all in all 0-0 weren't too far from expectations.

Flaaklypa FK - Ajax 3 : 2 Scorers: Solan Gundersen (36.) ***Trabelsi (4.), Sonck (57.) Penalties: 2 ***- Booked: --- ***Grygera, Mitea Flaaklypa FK hits their strategy very well, and had strong control of this match; the win could easily have been larger. This keeps the promotion contention tight and exciting! the Trumpet Bums - Twin Peaks Owls 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***Garland Briggs (73.), Nadine Hurley (58.) Booked: Barry Browngas, Peter Pong ***--- The Trumpet Bums had their chance to secure their contract, but weren't strong enough to hold off the Bookhouse Boys. Still, with the Bushies running around managerless this weekend, perhaps they don't need to take more points. Twin Peaks Owls, on the other hand, are clearly safe after a four point weekend.

Erkrath Gladiators - Greensleeves United 1 : 1 Scorers: Nietzsche (44.) ***Tetsujin (32.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Even and good quality at Kampfbahn an der Gink tonight, but with the Raging Mob up in arms against the Ukraine election... no wait, against the missed penalty that prevented them from taking a somewhat lucky home win.

13.Rosedale Knockout semi finals results

Lower Tadfield Apocalypse - Camarilla Divided 6 : 1 Scorers: Chalky (40., 56.), Jigglypuff (6., 54.), Witchfinder Major Saucepan (43., 87.) ***Bill the Clueless Brujah (15.) Booked: Jigglypuff ***Jerry 'Informed' Time The Apocalypse's very offensive-minded strategy paid off, with a significant play advantage, and a significantly more flattering scoreline. Are they on their way to be the first club to take the double this year...?

Grunts United - Dangermouse 1 : 0 Scorers: Fork Fever (8.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Buggles Pigeon, Count Duckula, Dangermouse Grunts United are in great form, and took an early 1-0 lead against the run of play. Then the Mouseketeers demonstrated an inability to score from an abundance of chances, and the Greenskins thus ride on to the final!

14. GM's ramble

Ok, it's that time of season again, need to look to next season and do some planning, to make the season transition as smooth as possible. So I ask you to give me a pointer, for each of your teams: Do you want to keep it, do you want to drop it, don't you mind either way or don't you know yet? Also I'd like to know if you would like to take over a dumped team and/or start a new team. If you have friends who want to play, have them come forward and contact me.

Start off with the «best case» scenario for you, and let me know what adjustments you wouldn't mind in order to hit the magical 48 (I'm sure we'll have way more than 36 teams, and I don't think I'll have time to run a league of 60 at this point). Whatever answer you give now will =not= be binding; just give me your best guess.

I anticipate having issue #11 due 3rd and published 4th or 5th, then having issue #12 due 17th and published 18th, and then putting together issue #1 sometime before New Year, and having the first games (issue #2) due 7th of January. If you have a problem with this timetable, do let me know.

This week, we lacked one team, so that's 47 out of 48 teams submitted. Not bad.

Lower Tadfield Apocalypse still tops Rosedale Open, now with 32 points. Sale Savoyards follow closest, seven points behind, with Grunts United another two points behind. Trailing are the Blitzball Team, the Ancients and Jedi Order, all with 13 points, and Stranraer Reserves now with 3 points. The luckiest team of Rosedale Open is Sale Savoyards, while the unluckiest team is still Call of Cthulhu. All the clubs submitted.

In Lexington League, Mishima Zaibatsu (32), Monkey Business (30) and Dangermouse (28) make up the promotion zone. They now have a comfortable gap down to 4th place. In the relegation zone, Marvel Comics has risen up to 10 points, and have just 2 points up to safety. Car Park Rangers and Coventry follows, with 7 and 4 points respectively. The luckiest team of Lexington League is now by far Mishima Zaibatsu, and the unluckiest is First Men of Rome, although Trivial Brief Association is now giving them a run for that money. All the Lexington clubs submitted orders.

Berkeley Conference has resolved a little of its promotion race, with Lords now ahead with 32 points, with World Ambassadors at 30 points and Batt in Blax at 28 points. There's 4 points down to Brazil Star Conquerors, and another down to Sleep Wanderers. The relegation fight remains five teams strong. Underdogs FC and Fluffy Bunny Eaters leads it with 11 points, Pocket Valley Philosophers and Sheffield Thursday each have 10 points, and Super Milk lags a little with 6 points. The luckiest team of Berkeley is Fluffy Bunny Eaters, closely followed by Lords, while the unluckiest is Odd Athletics. All clubs in Berkeley submitted.

The resolution last week brought to Kirkwood Showdown has all been mudded up again. Now Flaaklypa FK reigns supreme with 25 points, with one whole point down to Ajax and Rosedale Quest, and one further point down to Real Johto and Dummys. Republican Party still holds relegation with 4 points, still chasing Trumpet Bums at 8. The luckiest team of Kirkwood is a tie between March of the Black Queen and Twin Peaks Owls, while Greensleeves United holds steady as the unluckiest. Kirkwood Showdown had a submission rate of 11/12.

The worst karma of all belongs to Call of Cthulhu, and the best karma belongs to Sale Savoyards.

The home advantage has increased to 9 VP. In the next issue, matches 19 and 20 will be played.

The deadline for issue 11 is Friday, December 3, at 2130 CET. Note that it is unlikely it will be published before Saturday evening at the earliest, probably Sunday. Ya know, these exams... :)

I will send out your teams soon.
