South American Journal of Academic Research, Volume-1, Issue-2, 2014 QUALITY CONTROL ON HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEMS IN BANGLADESH A Case Study by Dr Jakir Hossain, Bangladesh (Assistant Professor of Management at University of Sciences and Technology, Chittagong, Bangladesh) Email:- [email protected] ABSTRACT Quality control on educational systems in Bangladesh has been viewed in traditional routine ways at institutions in Bangladesh. This paper study found out some vital factors which might be real concern in observance of quality issues. The salient notions including organizational structural lapses, governance problems, modern teaching approach gaps, syllabus & curriculum design frailty, infrastructural shortages, top level policies and decisions problems, implementation problems & disparity factors, Bureaucracy, leadership defects, interference, resistances to changes, improper planning, lack of professionalism, lack of resources, favoritism are salient issues seen in this study. Political influences on environments, systems of teaching and learning leading to quality failures have got serious impacts on total output and development. Besides some other dominant factors include teachers‟ roles, assessments systems on students performances and continuations, stake holders attitudes, interest in profit makings have been major features in not assuring quality standards been identified. KEYWORDS Quality Control, Standards, Education, Institution, Universities INTRODUCTION Quality means certain levels of excellence in performance of service & products marks. It also indicates particular marks of standards which ensure satisfactory levels of service & products utility. Educational systems & management in higher education include wider ranges of activities and functions that focus on various educational mechanisms & levels in Bangladesh. The present study aimed at exploring differences between the public and private sector industrial enterprises of Bangladesh with respect to overall status of compensation practices. Data collected from twenty-six public and thirty-four private industrial enterprises shows that the overall status of compensation practices of the private sector industrial enterprises is significantly better than that of the public sector industrial enterprises in Bangladesh. Some implications are also offered for overall improvement of the compensation practices of the public and private sector industrial enterprises of Bangladesh. International Journal of Management & Information Systems – Fourth Quarter 2011 Volume 15, Number 4 History Of Search Engines Tom Seymour, Minot State University, USA Dean Frantsvog, Minot State University, USA Satheesh Kumar, Minot State University, USA ABSTRACT As the number of sites on the Web increased in the mid-to-late 90s, search engines started appearing to help people find information quickly. Search engines developed business models to finance their services, such as pay per click programs offered by Open Text in 1996 and then Goto.com in 1998. Goto.com later changed its name to Overture in 2001, and was purchased by Yahoo! in 2003, and now offers paid search opportunities for advertisers through Yahoo! Search Marketing. Google also began to offer advertisements on search results pages in 2000 through the Google Ad Words program. By 2007, pay-per-click programs proved to be primary money-makers for search engines. In a market dominated by Google, in 2009 Yahoo! and Microsoft announced the intention to forge an alliance. The Yahoo! & Microsoft Search Alliance eventually received approval from regulators in the US and Europe in February 2010. Search engine optimization consultants expanded their offerings to help businesses learn about and use the advertising opportunities offered by search engines, and new agencies focusing primarily upon marketing and advertising through search engines emerged. The term "Search Engine Marketing" was proposed by Danny Sullivan in 2001 to cover the spectrum of activities involved in performing SEO, managing paid listings at the search engines, submitting sites to directories, and developing online marketing strategies for businesses, organizations, and individuals. -

The company´s website was transferred from Wordpress to the Joomla! content manage- ment system. Google Webmaster Tools and Tag Manager collected the data. Keyword re- search, Technical optimization, Semantic content optimization (On-page optimization), Us- ability and Off-page optimization (Links etc.) were made to the company’s website. New content pages were built for the important content and keywords. When analysing the results, search engine visibility has increased with all product and ser- vice terms as wished. The tree strategic goals for the search engine optimization: Better visibility, Website traffic and High return on investment and find KPI`s were realized. The company’s visibility and indexed page numbers have increased and the tracked keywords ranking has risen in all categories. Before the optimization process Google showed 41 ranked keywords on the first search results page. After optimization the number increased to 60. The results show that using search engine optimization theories and instruction, it is possible to get better visibility in search results.
