  • Social Responsability and Sustainability Report 2020 SA Social Responsability and Sustainability Report 2020
Social Responsability and Sustainability Report 2020 SA Social Responsability and Sustainability Report 2020 Our current circumstances, the extraordinarily complex and uncertain turn of events, leave little room for retrospective analy- sis. Our priority now must be to address both the serious health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and, at the same time, the resulting profound social and economic crisis that has struck us all so suddenly. All without losing sight of the future. These are times for decisive, rigorous action, for acting with a sense of responsibility and with a long-term view. From the very outset, PRISA, aside from immediately implementing the required sanitary measures, saw its priority as maintain- ing its operations in the areas of quality education, news, culture and entertainment. We are convinced that this was a priority shared by all our target audiences. We have given equal priority to our financial liquidity and the adaptation of our structures, resources and processes to the rapidly changing new environment. Over the past year, the Board of Directors has devoted particular attention to reviewing strategy and to defining the optimum roadmap to ensure that our range of different operations can successfully develop future projects. These must necessarily be transformative – and, by extension, ambitious and exciting – and they must be in a position to generate value on a sustainable basis for all our publics and stakeholders. We also envisage profitability levels that will allow us to offer adequate returns to those who provide us with the necessary re- sources to develop our projects. This unprecedented crisis will have a negative effect on our already high level of indebtedness, which we must reduce and bring within parameters that are appropriate to our businesses.

  • What Ideas Do Viewers Have About
A Discursive Thematic Analysis of Audience Response Towards the Portrayal of Mental Distress in United Kingdom Soap Operas EDWARD SMITH A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the University of East London for the doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology July 2012 ABSTRACT The potential for stigmatising public attitudes to have a negative impact on the wellbeing of individuals identified as experiencing mental distress has been widely documented. The contribution of the mass media towards public attitudes surrounding mental distress has attracted particular interest, particularly that of television portrayals. Research into the influence of the media towards public attitudes has focused on a ‘strong media’ model that assumes a direct influence of the content on viewer attitudes. Recent theory has suggested an ‘audience response’ model whereby audience attitudes towards the subject matter, genre and purpose of viewing can influence their understanding of the content; however this approach is under-represented in research. In the United Kingdom the soap opera genre in particular is positioned to have a potential role in influencing public attitudes towards mental distress, frequently depicting mental distress within a realist frame and being presented as having a public service function. This thesis aims to explore the ideas that viewers take from soap opera portrayals of mental distress within an audience response approach. Soap opera viewers were interviewed about the ideas of mental distress they developed from storylines they had watched, and these interviews were analysed using a discursive thematic analysis, taking into account their beliefs about mental distress, the soap opera genre and their viewing purposes.

  • Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (PRB) Had Only Seven Members but Influenced Many Other Artists
1 • Of course, their patrons, largely the middle-class themselves form different groups and each member of the PRB appealed to different types of buyers but together they created a stronger brand. In fact, they differed from a boy band as they created works that were bought independently. As well as their overall PRB brand each created an individual brand (sub-cognitive branding) that convinced the buyer they were making a wise investment. • Millais could be trusted as he was a born artist, an honest Englishman and made an ARA in 1853 and later RA (and President just before he died). • Hunt could be trusted as an investment as he was serious, had religious convictions and worked hard at everything he did. • Rossetti was a typical unreliable Romantic image of the artist so buying one of his paintings was a wise investment as you were buying the work of a ‘real artist’. 2 • The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (PRB) had only seven members but influenced many other artists. • Those most closely associated with the PRB were Ford Madox Brown (who was seven years older), Elizabeth Siddal (who died in 1862) and Walter Deverell (who died in 1854). • Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris were about five years younger. They met at Oxford and were influenced by Rossetti. I will discuss them more fully when I cover the Arts & Crafts Movement. • There were many other artists influenced by the PRB including, • John Brett, who was influenced by John Ruskin, • Arthur Hughes, a successful artist best known for April Love, • Henry Wallis, an artist who is best known for The Death of Chatterton (1856) and The Stonebreaker (1858), • William Dyce, who influenced the Pre-Raphaelites and whose Pegwell Bay is untypical but the most Pre-Raphaelite in style of his works.

Light it up, 3 1 Star power, 1 0 1 Vikings seek another title, 25 jj8? THURSDAY, SEPT. 8, 2016 Sentinel gm news.com North Brunswick • South Brunswick So. Brunswick seniors celebrate a golden age By JENNIFER AMATO Staff Writer n a building that is just 25 years old, there are enough memories to last 25 Ilifetimes. The South Brunswick Senior Center will highlight its 25th anniversary on Sept. 22 with a celebratory party. Betsy Sansig, 92, remembers when a celebration was held to mark the first offi cial day of the opening of the center in 1991. “The mayor was here. And a lot of big shots,” she said of the ribbon-cutting and luncheon to follow. Prior to the establishment of the senior center, a group of seniors would meet in the early 1980s at the municipal building to pe tition for a space of their own while using Crossroads Middle School, the VFW, the high school and Woodlol Park as meeting grounds. “We used to join trips. We used to go away sometimes for a week ... and book a hotel,” Sansig said. Then, with permission of the mayor and council at the time, a 10,000-square-foot structure was built for a population of 2,000 residents who were age 55 or older, with about 50 seniors coming to the center each day. A group would go door-to-door selling stickers to residents — Sansig did not re member what the stickers looked like — in order to buy $3,000 worth of kitchenware and dishware for the new center.
