With just one departed starter in lockdown cornerback Tyler Horton, the Bronco secondary remains strong with the returns of 2018 starters Avery Williams at corner, Kekoa Nawahine and DeAndre Pierce at safety, and Kekaula Kaniho at nickel . Redshirt junior Jalen Walker, who has made spot starts in place of Horton due to injury, is expected to start opposite Williams to open this season after breaking up a pair of passes and recovering two in 2018 .

CB/KR/PR Avery Williams Boise State’s was the first collegiate stadium to have the entire Paul Hornung Award field produced in a special color .

Since 1986, Boise State is a combined 182-39 on The Blue, a winning percentage of .824 . And since 2000, Boise State has gone 113-9 at home ( .926), the highest winning percentage in the country during that time .

Overall, since the construction of Albertsons Stadium in 1970, Boise State is 265-56 ( .826), the second-highest winning percentage of any stadium in the country built before 1980 . Only Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium (266-53-3; .831), built in 1929, has a higher winning percentage for its tenant among stadiums built before 1980 .

Boise State unveiled a new look for the 2017 season, the first time the Broncos had overhauled their Nike uniforms since 2011 .

Included in the new slate were blue, orange and white, and the jerseys featured new stripes on the sleeves and “Blue Collar” on the inside of the neck . The Broncos added a black set of uniforms that will be unveiled against Air Force, Sept . 20 .

The uniforms are from the Nike Vapor Untouchable line, with stretch woven material, a seamless front and shoulders and laser perforation fabric instead of mesh . The uniforms combine materials and science designed for speed and comfort for the players, based on four core principles – fit, durability, weight and core body temperature .

Bryan Harsin, a former Boise State quarterback, assistant coach and offensive coordinator, completed his fifth season as the head coach at his alma mater in 2018 . Through five seasons with the Broncos, Harsin boasts a record of 52-15, an average of more than 10 wins per season . Overall, he is 59-20 as a head coach – including one season at Arkansas State – and has led his programs to bowl games in each season as a head coach .

Since Boise State hired Harsin prior to the 2014 season, only five schools have more wins than the Broncos - Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Wisconsin .

In his debut season Harsin led his alma mater back to where it rose to national prominence . Boise State went 12-2 in 2014, winning its first outright Mountain West Championship and capping the campaign with a 38-30 victory over Arizona in the 2014 VIZIO Fiesta Bowl . The victory in the Fiesta Bowl was the third such win for the Broncos in the previous nine seasons .
