The Star Online > Central Saturday April 8, 2006 Nurturing new talents By NG WEI LOON Photos by GLENN GUAN [email protected] THE Bakti Siti Hasmah building administration board, led by its chairman Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, has embarked on a sports community project with the launch of Tunas Juara (Budding Champions) Bakti badminton development programme at the Bakti Siti Hasmah building multi-purpose hall last Tuesday . Dr Siti Hasmah (right) and Faris wait for the shuttle. “Champions are not born but made. Building a solid foundation at the grassroots is the only way to achieve success in the future. “Children need to be nurtured and guided with the right motivation, enthusiasm and discipline in the pursuit of excellence,” said Dr Siti Hasmah, who officiated the launch. Bakti acting president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Datuk Nadzmi Salleh and Federal Territory Education Department director Noor Rezan Bapoo Hashim were also present at the launch. Its futuristic design will shape yaur universe. 5M A 5H +5% SPEED! Because the M uscle Power construction keeps the frame and string in closer and tighter contact, the frame and string function as a single unit. Thanks to this unity, there is no energy loss and no energy waste—the full magnitude of smash energy at impact is transferred directly to the shuttlecock. Rounding corners realize the fram e's full power potential The Muscle Power grommet hole construction seats th e string on Round Archways that cause no string stress-load and no fatigue through contact friction. Rounding t he cor ners create total unity between the frame and string as they are in much closer and tighter contact, which realize a new magnitude of face stability that lets you launch shots with venomous power. Unrivaled Firepower — the entire frame receives and transfers the full energy of a hit straight to the shuttlecock. "Durability" helps hold tension. Compared with the M uscle Power construction, a con ventional racquet's less durable construction demon strates a sharp and progressive curve of diminished string tension over time. • V YONEX. He was condemned, with his wife Dong Hui, to imprisonment and to laogai camps for the rest of his life. His posthumous rehabilitation in 1982 transformed him into a legendary national hero. Illustrative of the political struggles in 1953-1955, the Pan Hannian affair seems to reveal the methods Mao Zedong used from time to time in managing the Party internally so as to maintain his dominant position in the leadership.

The History of Badminton: Badminton House and Estate lies in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside and is the private home of the 12th Duke and Duchess of Beaufort and the Somerset family. The House is not normally open to the general public, it dates from the 17th century and is set in a beautiful deer park which hosts the world-famous Badminton Horse Trials. The Great Hall at Badminton House is famous for an incident on a rainy day in 1863 when the game of badminton was said to have been invented by friends of the 8th Duke of Beaufort.
