" DAB Original is the leading product in this premium lager quality. It is still brewed according to the original brewing process, using only barley malt, hops, yeast, and water to create the fabulous crisp and full-bodied taste. Dortmunder Export Dortmunder Export is a malty, full-bodied beer with restrained hopping (somewhere between a Helles and a Pils). A bit like a strong West Country bitter (say Arkell's BBB), but fizzier. Once a gravity of at least 12.5° would have been the minimum, with an average at around 13°, giving an alcohol content of 5.2% - 5.5%. Gravities have been dropping over the last 20 years and now barely reach 12°. Export In Germany, a pale, Dortmund style bottom-fermented beer, bigger bodied than a Pilsner and less dry, but not as sweet as a Munich pale beer. At 5.25-5.5 by volume, stronger than either. Elsewhere: usually indicates a premium beer. D ortmunde r Export Golden lager with a mineral-ish dryness and slightly above-average strength. Dortmunder Export. Well balanced, smooth, and refreshing, Dortmunders tend to be stronger and fuller than other pale lagers or Munich Helles styles. They may also be a shade darker and a touch hoppier. The style originates from the city of Dortmund in northern Germany. Dortmunder Export came about during the industrial revolution, when Dortmund was the center of the coal and steel industries, and the swelling population needed a hearty and sustaining brew. The "export" appendage refers to the fact that Dortmunder beers were "exported" to surrounding regions. Today the term Dortmunder now widely refers to stronger lagers brewed for export, though not necessarily from Dortmund. .

Essendo la necessità madre di tutte le invenzioni, la donna inventa una tecnica originale di conservazione cioè mantenere i grani in recipienti riempiti d'acqua che poi grazie ai lieviti selvaggi mettono in atto una fermentazione: la birra comincia così a delinearsi. Quando si nutre di questo "intruglio", l'uomo primitivo si sente rinvigorito e soprattutto più felice: la durezza della vita gli appare più sopportabile e vede in tutto questo un intervento divino. I Sumeri La prima traccia inconfutabile dell'esistenza della birra ci viene da una tavoletta di argilla dell'epoca predinastica sumera (circa 3.700 a.C.), il celebre "monumento blu" che descrive i doni propiziatori offerti alla dea Nin-Harra: capretti, miele e birra. Dai caratteri cuneiformi dei sumeri sappiamo inoltre che le "case della birra" sono tenute da donne, che la birra d'orzo è chiamata sikaru (pane liquido) mentre quella di farro è detta kurunnu e che altri tipi vengono ottenuti mescolando in proporzioni diverse le prime due.
