It not only explored Taiwan among cultural policies, but economical theory has constant enhancement, and the economic industrial policies have combined closely. According to the civilization and constriction council, in the nearly eleven years from 83 to 93, a run-up in relevant festival celebration of culture activities, It has the tendency to increase gradually in influencing on crowd and consumption capacity. Especially, the degree of consumption of the culture goods is the focus for paying attention to. Because the culture goods are process ways for the local industry and national economy combination, so our country needs to pay attention to this topic even more. The town Caotun, Nantou County, Taiwan, positively derived local industry to develop the culture industry. • Cultural Ecosystem of the Seediq's Traditional Weaving Techniques
sustainability Article Cultural Ecosystem of the Seediq’s Traditional Weaving Techniques—A Comparison of the Learning Differences Between Urban and Indigenous Communities Shyh-Huei Hwang 1,* and Hsiu-Mei Huang 2 1 College of Design, National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, Yunlin 64002, Taiwan 2 Graduate School of Design, National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, Yunlin 64002, Taiwan; [email protected] * Correspondence: [email protected]; Tel.: +886-5-5342601 (ext. 6000) Received: 15 January 2019; Accepted: 4 March 2019; Published: 13 March 2019 Abstract: The Seediq tribe is one of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples, and they have very traditional weaving techniques. Women of the Seediq weave clothes and quilts for their families as they believe that only women with good weaving skill can pass through the Rainbow Bridge and be reunited with ancestors after they die. However, due to changing society, there is little demand for weaving today, and the norms observed by their ancestors are gradually disappearing, resulting in the declining number of locals capable of weaving. The weaving techniques of these Indigenous people are on the verge of disappearing. Unfortunately, when the government took measures to preserve the techniques by registering Seta Bakan as the preserver of intangible cultural heritage, and launched training classes to save such techniques, no locals were initially interested in learning weaving. After non-Seediq people were allowed to participate in learning, the course attracted weaving lovers from all over the island. The course included five learning phases within four years, which were given in urban communities. In the fourth year, the weaving teacher was invited to carry out a course to teach in her Indigenous village.

E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The fiddler crab, Uca splendida (Stimpson, 1858) has been synonymized under Uca crassipes (White, 1847) since Crane (1975). Studies of specimens from the Hong Kong type locality and adjacent areas of China, Taiwan and Vietnam show that U. splendida is a valid species, with a characteristic suite of carapace and gonopod features as well as a distinct cytochrome oxidase I (COI) signature. Genetic work shows that U. splendida belongs to a well-supported clade and is the sister species of U. crassipes. The distribution of U. splendida is restricted to continental East and continental Southeast Asia, in contrast to the oceanic distribution of U. crassipes. Both species, however, are sympatric in Penghu Islands, western Taiwan and Dongsha Island (=Pratas Island). Key words: Uca splendida, U. crassipes, U. chlorophthalmus, South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, cytochrome oxidase I, taxonomy Introduction Uca crassipes (White, 1847) is a common broad-fronted species of fiddler crab distributed widely in the western and central Pacific Ocean and the eastern margin of the Indian Ocean (Crane 1975).

FREE GREEN GUIDE - TAIWAN PDF Gwen Cannon,Florent Bonnefoy,Mark Caltonhill,Rick Charette,Brent Hannon,Linda Lee | 387 pages | 16 Apr 2011 | Michelin Apa Publications Ltd | 9781907099267 | English | London, United Kingdom Travel Guide Taipei - The Michelin Green Guide I have just returned to the United States, sadly, after spending a wonderful 6. During my time home, I was able to expand my Taiwanese horizons and visit many new places. One such place is Green Island. And that Green Guide - Taiwan indeed a fact. But as I soon learned, it is quite a feat to organize trips to both outlying islands off the coast of Taitung, Green and Orchid Islands. That is primarily what I am here to write about. But it is worth Green Guide - Taiwan stress and fight for transportation tickets and accommodations. The tiny island is beautiful and very laid back. Diving here is definitely world-class and pristine. It does not matter where you stand politically, I think this is such an important and integral part of the formation of modern Taiwan Green Guide - Taiwan it is a rare example of a place that so openly talks about it. And whats more, its free admission! There are a few ways to get to Green Island, all involve getting to Taitung first, each come with pros and cons and varying travel times, it is completely up to you how to get there. Mainly for air and train. Ferries tend to be more lax, you just call or Line message and book, no credit card of ID just name is needed, and if you no-show you no-show but its a Green Guide - Taiwan nonetheless to call and cancel.

  • Atmospheric PM2.5 and Polychlorinated Dibenzo-P-Dioxins and Dibenzofurans in Taiwan
Aerosol and Air Quality Research, 18: 762–779, 2018 Copyright © Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research ISSN: 1680-8584 print / 2071-1409 online doi: 10.4209/aaqr.2018.02.0050 Atmospheric PM2.5 and Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-dioxins and Dibenzofurans in Taiwan Yen-Yi Lee 1, Lin-Chi Wang2*, Jinning Zhu 3**, Jhong-Lin Wu4***, Kuan-Lin Lee1 1 Department of Environmental Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan 70101, Taiwan 2 Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, Cheng Shiu University, Kaohsiung 83347, Taiwan 3 School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Hefei University of Technology, Hefei 246011, China 4 Sustainable Environment Research Laboratories, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan 70101, Taiwan ABSTRACT In this study, the atmospheric PM2.5, increases/decreases of the PM2.5, the PM2.5/PM10 ratio, total PCDD/Fs-TEQ concentrations, PM2.5-bound total PCDD/Fs-TEQ content, and PCDD/F gas-particle partition in Taiwan were investigated for the period 2013 to 2017. In Taiwan, the annual average PM2.5 concentrations were found to be 28.9, 24.1, 21.4, 20.2, –3 and 19.9 µg m in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, respectively, which indicated that the annual variations in PM2.5 levels were decreasing during the study period. The average increases (+)/decreases (–) of PM2.5 concentrations were –16.7%, –11.1%, –5.75%, and –1.73% from 2013 to 2014, from 2014 to 2015, from 2015 to 2016, and from 2016 to 2017, respectively. Based to the relationship between PM10 values and total PCDD/F concentrations obtained from previous studies, we estimated that in 2017, the annual average total PCDD/Fs-TEQ concentrations ranged between 0.0148 –3 –3 (Lienchiang County) and 0.0573 pg WHO2005-TEQ m (Keelung City), and averaged 0.0296 pg WHO2005-TEQ m , while –1 the PM2.5-bound total PCDD/Fs-TEQ content ranged from 0.302 (Kaohsiung City) to 0.911 ng WHO2005-TEQ g –1 (Keelung City), at an average of 0.572 ng WHO2005-TEQ g .
