Delivered full-time over 18 months with the option of an accelerated 12 month programme, the 90 EC Master’s is comprised of 30 EC Preparatory Phase modules on sustainability, social innovation and transdisciplinary research; 30 EC Flexible Phase transdisciplinary modules related to Water, Food or Life and Health; and a 30 EC Capstone on a sustainability challenge in collaboration with extra academic actors (i.e. business, community and society). This overall structure will attract high quality graduates from diverse relevant backgrounds who intend to work in sustainable policy and communication roles, social innovation and action either within existing companies (intrapreneurship) or via generation of new enterprises (entrepreneurship), and academic research in this area. 3 Contents 1. After a good deal of reflection, I have decided that, while I still have health, energy, enthusiasm and love for what I do, I will conclude my presidency at Mount St. Mary’s College, effective July 1, 2011, or at a subsequent date when the search for a successor is completed. While a vibrant institution is never at a standstill, this moment in our history seems to be appropriate for a transition. The College is in a strong financial position; our enrollment continues to grow; and there are no emergencies. We completed a successful capital campaign in 2008, and our 2007–12 Strategic Plan is alive and advancing.
