Sundar Srikanth Mallajosyula (Mridangam) (Vocal) (Violin) Saturday Jan 29, 2011 5PM Admission free Madurai R Sundar was initiated at a very early age into Carnatic music by his aunt Mrs. Ananthalakshmi Sadagopan, herself a musician of repute. Later Sundar came under the tutelage of the musical legend Madurai T.N.Seshagopalan in 1972 and made his debut in 1974.. He has won numerous prizes including Sangeetha Rathna, Sarada Krishna Iyer memorial award. Sundar has performed extensively in India, Australia, USA and the Middle East. He is regularly featured in the prime time by Madras Music Academy. He is an A-grade artiste of the All India Radio. He has released audiocassettes and CDs through Kalavardhani and Sangeetha. Sundar, and his wife Padma Sundar run a music school called ‘Trinity Academy of Fine Arts’ in the metropolitan Detroit area. Sundar is a B.Tech from IIT-Madras and secured his MBA from the reputed IIM-Ahmedabad. He has a Master’s degree in Information Technology Project Management from George Washington University. Currently he works for the automobile giant Chrysler at their Information Technology division in Detroit. Srikanth Mallajosyula started his music lessons early in violin and was a recipient of the National Talent Search Scholarship from the Govt. of India, in the field of violin and has won several prizes. He has learnt under the front ranking violinist A. Kanyakumari, who is also his maternal aunt. He feels very privileged to have provided violin accompaniment to many senior artists such as Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy, Sri R.K. Srikantan, Sri Chitraveena Ravikiran, Trichur Ramachandran and others. He has provided violin support to his aunt and Guru, Vidushi A. Kanyakumari, on many occasions. He is also a vocalist and has honed his vocal skills under Sri D. Raghavachary (Hyderabad Brothers), Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy and Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy. Rajna Swaminathan is an upcoming young artiste in the field of Carnatic percussion. She started learning Mrudangam from her father Dr. P. K. Swaminathan at the age of 5 and came under the direct tutelage of Sangeeta Kalanidhi Sri Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman at the age of 8. She has accompanied top artists like Smt. Jayalakshmi Santhanam, Flute Shashank, Carnatica Brothers (K. N. Shashikiran & P. Ganesh), Papanasam Ashok Ramani, Master Balamuralikrishna, and Sikkil Gurucharan. Along with her father Dr. P. K. Swaminathan, she has accompanied high caliber artists such as Dr. N. Ramani, Sikkil Mala Chandrasekhar, Rudrapatnam Brothers, Charumathi Ramachandran, and won their praise. Rajna has performed at the December season in Chennai for many years now at many venues and multiple times at the prestigious Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival. .

    Vid. Mysore N Srinath ‐ Mysore India Sri Mysore N.Srinath started his carnatic training with vidushi K.G. Kanakalaksmi, and continued under professor S.Ramanathan. He was awarded Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatha Scholarship. He is a disciple of Sri R.N. Thyagarajan, the elder of the well known Rudrapatnam Brothers duo. He received a Karnataka state government scholarship to pursue Carnatic music. He has given over 750 concerts all over the world and has performed for Indian television on several occasions. He is a graded artist for All India Radio (Indian National Broadcaster). For the past few years, he has toured and performed at several cities in the USA for various dance concerts. Sri Srinath also conducts Carnatic vocal workshops for interested students. Sri Srinath is an integral part of Kalakshiti Ensemble for dance programs Lakshmi Varanasi ‐ Indianapolis, IN Vid. Ramesh Ramalingappa – Bangalore, India Ramesh Ramalingappa, with more than 3500 performances, is a master Mrudangist. He is the student of legendary percussion master Vasudeva Rao. Ramesh is versatile percussionist who can play more than 5 instruments. He holds a rank in Vidwath Exams and has awarded prestigeous Ananya Yuva Puraskar. He has accompanied major classical musicians and dancers since 1980's. He was a major figure in Indian Dance music festivals such as Hampi Dance Festival, Mysore International Music Festival, The Royal Kadamba festival of dance and music and others.
