Dress Code Reminder All students must be in the winter regular and gym uniforms beginning Monday, October 15th. This means NO POLO SHIRTS AND NO SHORTS. Please review the dress code (found in the Parent-Student Handbook and on the “parents” page on the school’s website—www.linkschool.org).

Also, it is sometimes drafty in some parts of our large building. We suggest that all students have a Link sweater to wear with their regular uniform. They are not allowed to wear the Link sweatshirt with the regular uniform nor are they allowed to wear non-Link sweaters.

Additionally we suggest that you label your child’s clothing – especially the sweaters and sweatshirt.

In the Classrooms

MR. HILL’S ALGEBRA 1 HONORS CLASS: PROJECT DUE MONDAY, OCTOBER 15TH Quarter 1 Project for TEAM UMOJA: The Fundraiser for the 8th Grade Trip OBJECTIVE: The goal of this project is to have students plan and organize a fund-raising event to cover the cost of an 8th grade class trip. In completing the project, the students will use variables, variable expressions, and formulas to find the total cost of the class trip. Students will also use the profit formula (Profit = Income – Expenses) to forecast the amount of money they plan to raise during their fund-raising event. This is an open- ended project. The actual profits (money raised) cannot be known ahead of time. We will NOT raise the actual funds! Students received the instructions for this project on October1st. There will be no extensions to the due date.

The LPA would like to give a huge shout-out to Mr. Hill, dean of students, for meeting and greeting all students as they enter the school building. His warm smile and handshake helps students get off to a good start each day.
