  • My Encounter with the Rebbe טילש
בס"ד My Encounter שליט"א With The Rebbe By Zalmon Jaffe 24th Installment Shovous 5752/1992 until Shovous 5753/1993 INTRODUCTION Shnas Nissim Godolim - 5753 Shnas Niflo'os Gedolos The Year of GREAT MIRACLES The Year of GREAT WONDERS Once again, I have great pleasure in submitting to you, for your enjoyment and edification, the twenty fourth instalment of "My Encounter with the Rebbe, Shlita." As usual, it takes the form of a diary with the sequence of events in the order in which they occurred. In the introduction to my last year's instalment, number 23, I did warn my readers that although the Rebbe's health was improving every day, (B.H.), a complete recovery would take a little longer than was at first anticipated. On August 25th '92, Dr. Ira Weiss reported to me that, "The Rebbe did have survival problems which were very worrying to him." "But, T.G., they are not problems any longer. The Rebbe is now making urgent efforts to speak, beginning to mumble, and wants to communicate." "We shall not get back everything that we lost but we shall all be well satisfied with the results." In the nine months since that report was issued, the Rebbe has continued to make good progress but he has suffered a great deal. And yet - throughout this period, it has been very noticeable that the Rebbe has attended to all his normal traditional and routine activities with his usual thoroughness and promptness. When one considers that the Rebbe's workload is expanding and increasing every week at an amazing and rapid rate, one may really appreciate how the Rebbe has been managing to deal with these added pressures in spite of difficulties in communication.

The sheer greatness and power of this event is unmistakable but this is only because of your participation. As the Rebbe often stressed, every single Shliach’s involvement and contribution to the kinus is essential to its function as a whole. Just as every limb is integral to the health of the human body, every shliach is vital to the success of our mission: .להכין עצמו והעולם כולו לקבלת פני משיח צדקנו and לתקן עולם במלכות ש-ד-י During our brief time together, the Kinus serves as a spiritual oasis. Here we can benefit from the wealth of resources presented and the supercharged atmosphere of so many talented individuals gathered in one place. • A Giant Leap for ZAKA. a Small Step for Israeli Diplomacy
NEWSZAK A September 2016 A Giant Leap for ZAKA. A Small Step for Israeli Diplomacy. Dear Friends, Welcome to another edition of NewsZAKA, bringing you up to date with some of the latest activities in the organization. As we are about to enter the New Year 5777, we take this opportunity to review some of the highlights of ZAKA's activities during the past year. A year in which, once again, ZAKA shines a light in the darkness. 5776 began with the so-called "lone wolf intifada", and once again ZAKA volunteers were stretched to their fullest capacity. The stress of being on call and in action 24/7 took its toll not only on the volunteers but also their wives and families, and ZAKA offered much-needed psychological counseling. On the international front, ZAKA won the much-coveted advisory status at the United Nations, which has helped us as we share best practices with emergency forces around the world, as the terror threat grows ever wider. From Paris to Brussels, Istanbul to the Philippines, ZAKA offers assistance in many different ways, as you can read in these pages. ZAKA is completely dependent on the generosity of friends and supporters to ensure its vital and sacred work continues. This Rosh Hashanah, please donate generously so that we can purchase much-needed emergency supplies to ensure that we are ready for our next mission - whenever and wherever that will be. Thank you for your generosity. Secure donations can be made via our website www.zaka.org.uk. Wishing you and your family Shana Tova! Yehuda Meshi-Zahav ZAKA Chairman Main Office: 234 Jaffo St.
