Dialogue and Mutual Understanding PRESS RELEASE UN to appoint actress Monique Coleman as Youth Champion New York, 16 November: The UN will appoint Disney actress and youth activist Monique Coleman as a “Youth Champion” for the International Year of Youth at a press conference today. Ms. Coleman is best known for her character Taylor McKessie in the “High School Musical” movies and her recurring role as Mary-Margaret on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”. Most recently, she launched an online talk show, “Gimme MO'”, to empower youth. The American actress, a long-time advocate for improving the social and economic well-being of young peo- ple, says "I am extremely passionate about youth and look forward to highlighting the amazing ways they are already making a difference.” Assistant Secretary-General Jomo Kwame Sundaram in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs will present Ms. Coleman with a letter of recognition as a UN Youth Champion to promote the International Year. The International Year of Youth was launched on 12 August 2010 and runs through 11 August 2011. Youth, defined by the United Nations as people between the ages of 15 to 24, represent 18 per cent of the world’s population, or 1.2 billion people. The Year provides an opportunity to recognize that young people in all countries are a major human resource for development, positive social change and technical innovation. Volume 16, number 1, the spring 2018 issue of The ROCK was designed and produced by the 2017-18 ROCK staff. This 32-page, all-color issue was printed by Millet the Printer, Dallas, Texas, on 80 lb. gloss text paper. 300 copies were printed and for sale on the TCA campus for $2. Cost of printing is paid for by magazine sales and additional funds from the TCA Communications Department. Adobe InDesign CC 2015 and Photoshop CC 2015 software applications were used for design and layout. ‘A CHRISTMAS FOR THE BOOKS’ Cast Bios CHELSEA KANE (Joanna Moret) – Chelsea Kane has been acting professionally since the age of nine when she landed the role of Young Kim in the national Broadway tour of Showboat. Kane most recently starred as Riley on Freeform’s long-running hit show, “Baby Daddy,” which won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Comedy in 2017. Kane also starred in the original TV movies “Lovestruck” and “#Popfan,” and as Meredith in the theatrical release of Bratz. She enjoyed a recurring role on the final season of The CW’s “One Tree Hill” and was a fan favorite on season 12 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” finishing as one of the three finalists. Kane was a series lead on Disney’s “Jonas” and the voice of Bea Goldfishberg in their animated series, “Fish Hooks.” In addition to voicing roles in Adult Swim's “Hot Streets” and “Rick and Morty,” Kane loves bringing life to Pow in the new Netflix series “Trolls.” ### DREW SEELEY (Ted Dinrise) – Drew Seeley grew up in Toronto where he first fell in love with performing.
