Office vacant. b2 — REGULATIONS RESPECTING THE PROPOSING OE CANDIDATES AND RESPECTING ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS. Evert Candidate for admission to the Society as a Fellow must be pro- posed by three or more Fellows, at least one of whom must be personally acquainted with the Candidate. The Certificate must set forth the names, description, place of residence, and qualifications of the Candidate. See Bye- Laws, Sect. 3, Art. 1 to 4. EXTRACTS FROM SECTION VI. OF THE BYE-LAWS. Every newly elected Fellow shall pay an Admission-fee of Six Pounds Six Shillings. The Annual Contribution to be paid by Fellows shall be Two Pounds T\ro Shillings, due on each successive 1st of January, and payable in advance for the current year. Every newly elected Fellow, if elected in the month of January or February, shall be subject to the whole contribution of the current year ; but if elected in any subsequent month, shall be subject to a proportionate part only of such contribution, to be computed from the day of his election to the 1st of January next ensuing. A Fellow may at anytime compound for future Annual Contributions, that of the current year inclusive, by payment of Twenty-one Pounds. [The Fellows are particularly requested to communicate immediately all changes of Residence.] Fellows of the Society are entitled to borrow Books, Maps, Drawings, Specimens, &c. under certain Regulations, from the Library and Museum. They are entitled to introdua visitors to the Museum and Library (at Burlington House), which are open daily from It to 5 o'clock, and visitors at the Evening Meetings held fortnightly during the Session (a Burlington House). All Fellows elected on cmd after November 30, 1859, are entitled to receive the Quarter!; Journal of the Society. FELLOWS AND HONORARY MEMBERS. 1876. The Names without any marks before them are those of Non-resident Fellows elected previously to November 30, 1859. (*) indicates Fellows elected previously to March 1, 1862, who reside and contribute annually. (**) indicate Fellows elected previously to March 1, 1862, who have compounded for the Annual Contribution, (t) indicates Non-resident Fellows elected on and after November 30, 1850, who pay an Annual Contribution of One Guinea and a Half, (tt) indicate Non-resident Fellows elected on and after November 30, 1859, who have compounded for the Annual Contribution. (|) indicates Fellows elected on and after March 1, 1862, who contribute Two Guineas annually, (ff) indicate Fellows elected on and after March 1, 1862, who have compounded for their Annual Contribution. The Names in Italics, at the end of the several letters, are those of persons who, having been Honorary Members before the incorporation of the Society, possess the privileges of attending its ordinary meetings, and of having access to the Library and Museum. Those Fellows to whose names the letter W is prefixed have received the Wollaston Medal, Those Fellows to whose names the letter w is prefixed have received the Balance of the Proceeds of the Wollaston Donation-fund. Those Fellows to whose names the letter M is prefixed have received the Murchison Medal. Those Fellows to whose names the letter M is prefixed have received the Proceeds of the Murchison Geological Fund. Those Fellows to whose names the letter L is prefixed have received the Lyell Medal. Those Fellows to whose names the letter h is prefixed have received the Proceeds of the Lyell Geological Fund.
