MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (MDP) Glimpse of activities Utkrash Leadership Centre of Excellence, in its continuous thrust on developing future leaders designed a program for building capability around 12 behavioral Competencies under the new initiative “Management Development Program”.Continuous demonstration of these competencies will spur organizational transformation and develop sustainable internal capability to cope up with any market place change. The Workshop facilitation is programmed for 6 days per batch and is meant to spread over three phases of 2 days duration for each batch.The entire program is conceptualized, designed and implemented in partnership with “Anexion Transformation” lead by Dr. Ajay Shrivastav.

The Phase 1 MDP program for Batch 1 comprising of 23 participants was flagged off in April 2015 at CHQ, with a two day Workshop on 13th& 14thof April followed by phase 2 workshops on 8th&9th June.

Under this initiative, participants are going through a four step Development Journey: Introduction to Self, new Learning. Development Plan & Assessment. In order to make learning effective participants have been put across Case study and group discussion, Video based discussion, Indoor as well as outdoor activity, Specific and pointed de-briefs. In addition to this, Psychometric tools like DISC Profiling, MBTI assessment were used to help participants understand/analyze their own dominant personality & consequent influence on response mechanism. This analysis resulted in individuals crafting their Individual development plans to carry forward this learning to the workplace. The participants have been oriented through four competencies in phase I which are a. Effective Communication b. Planning, Prioritising & Maintaining Focus c. Taking initiatives d. Delegation & four more competencies in phase II, which are e. Giving & receiving feedback f. Ownership & Accountability g. Problem solving h. Decision Making. Participants over a period of with persistent practice, will align competencies with daily work place behavior, impart this learning to others by way of small group discussions & during formal & informal workplace interactions derive to true value of the training. We strongly believe, this initiative would be pivotal in creating an aspiring and growth oriented managerial pool that will not only practice a culture of accountability & Intra-preneurship but also leverage this learning to the next level down the line. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day : CDR World Environment Day 2015 was celebrated at IMFA, Choudwar on 5th June 2015. The day began with ‘Prabhat Pheri’ by colony children holding coloured placards with eco-friendly messages. Banners were displayed at key locations with this year's UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program) message “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” Employees & Contract workers took environmental pledge in presence of Mr. D. Senapati, VP-Mfg (FA) & EIC, Mr. B. Mohapatra, VP- Head PBU. Eco-friendly carry bags with “WED 2015” message were distributed to employees through Kalinga cooperative store to encourage use of eco-friendly bags in place of polythene bags. On the inaugural day plantation program, initiated by IMFA CSR team, was carried out at Choudwar Police station premises. About 400 saplings were planted by guests, company executives and other dignitaries. The CSR team of IMFA, Choudwar was associated in organizing the plantation activities. Competitions & events were organized for employees & their family to generate environmental awareness i.e Sit & draw poster & quiz competition for students, environmental awareness training for contract workers at Unit - I, Unit -II & Unit- III followed by quiz competition. For colony ladies also environment awareness program was organized at recreation club colony-II followed by quiz competition. Debate competition was organized for non- executives & staff. Slogans were invited on environmental topic from employees & their family members in Oriya, Hindi & English languages .

World Environment Day : THV At Therubali, celebrations began with Prabhat Pheri in the morning by the students of TITC (Therubali Industrial Training Centre) displaying banners, posters and slogans around the colonies and market area for awareness on conservation of the environment & causes of degradation. The students participated in a debate competition on “TREES ARE FRIENDS" & "WATER IS LIFE”. At the closing ceremoney, Mr K V Rao, SGM-M (FA) & Mr R R Mohanty, GM-HR &Admn in their speeches stressed on the necessity for individuals to take responsibility for protecting the environment.

An Awareness Programme on “Natural Calamities- Maladies and Remedies" was organised by the District Legal Services Authority Rayagada , at our IMFA club premises Madhusudan Nagar. The state of with a long coastal belt has been prone to natural calamities resulting in great destruction and suffering for the common man. The awareness programme was an effort to create awareness for better disaster preparedness as well as remedial measures to be taken to bring relief to those affected by these calamities. Utkal Diwas: MMC

On 01st April 2015, UTKAL DIWAS, birth anniversary of the state of Odisha, was celebrated at Officers' Club of Mahagiri Enclave. All the Inmates including their family members participated in the celebration. Ladies & children sang patriotic songs. VP-Mining, Sr. GM-SCM and others spoke on the role played by Freedom Fighter’s to create the independent state of Odisha. AVIATION DIVISION PREPARES FOR A NEW DAWN

?IMFA Aviation Division at B.P. International Airport, BBSR has emerged as a potent corporate Aviation, a force to reckon with, in this Eastern Sector of the Indian Peninsula. Conceived and established in the early 80's by the great visionary Dr. Bansidhar Panda, Founder Chairman of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd., this Aviation Division has traversed a long journey of over three and a half decades till date. ?Kick started initially with vintage flying machines viz. Cheeta copters, Cessna 172, Cessna Crusader, Beech Baron and King Air C-90 etc., the Aviation Division has gone from strength to strength modifying its fleet of copters with Robinson R44, Raven II and Clippers and acquiring a state of the art corporate marvel- Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft. ?Time is the only capital which we can't afford to loose! With passage of time and in the Diamond Jubilee Decade of IMFA , our Aviation Division vies for its expansion by proposed new acquisition and with new infrastructure, in line with proposed expansion program of B.P. Dr. Supriti Mishra Prof. Supriti Mishra is an expert in the area of CSR and Corporate Governance.Currently she is an Associate Professor in the Bhubaneswar campus of International Management Institute (IMI). As a Visiting Professor at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, USA she delivered talks on CSR and Sustainability. Prof Mishra completed her MBA and M.A. in Applied Economics from Utkal University, , Ph.D. from I.I.T. Kharagpur, and Post-doctorate from Stern School of Business in New York University. She was a Fulbright Fellow in the year 2009-10 when she worked with Prof. Ingo Walter at the Stern Business School in New York University, USA, in the area of Corporate Governance. Prof. Mishra's research interest lies in the areas of corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, and sustainable development. She has published extensively in these areas in International Journals of Emerald and Springer Publications. She was invited by the International Finance Corporation to Hong Kong to deliver a talk on Corporate Governance to top executives of Hong Kong based companies in 2011. She is a reviewer for reputed journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics (Springer), British Journal of Management (Wiley), European Journal of Development Research and the Global Business Review (Sage). Prof. Mishra has over 20 years of industry, teaching and consulting experience. As a consultant she has been actively involved with the non-profit sector in India and is associated with various non-profit organizations including UNICEF, UNDP, Adam Smith Institute, U.K., and W.F. BIPF becomes PIA (Project Implementation Agency) for MoRD Skill Program Bansidhar &Ila Panda Foundation signed an MOU on 24/04/2015 with Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) to implement the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU- GKY) skill program in Odisha. The DDU_GKY is a placement linked skill-development program by Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) for developing skills and productive capacity of the rural youth. ORMAS is the nodal agency for program implementation in Odisha. The objective of this demand-based skill training is, employment and financial empowerment of marginalized communities. BIPF will provide training for trades like Welder, Fitter & Electrician at centres coming up at J.K Pur (Rayagada) and Sukinda (). A centre for training of girls in Industrial Sewing Machine Operation will also be set up at Choudwar. The MOU was signed in presence of Shri B N Das, Exec. Dir. ORMAS, Ms Sanghamitra Nayak, Dy CEO, Admin & Skill, ORMAS, Mr T C Hota, EVP, BIPF and Ms Nirmala Gupta, VP, BIPF. Project Su-Swasthya: for Safe Drinking Water Training Program on Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) and Safe Drinking Water was organized at Hatadihi block of Dhanurjayapur GP, Nuasahi. Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) Members, Gaon Kalyan Samiti (GKS) Members, ASHAs, AWWs and villagers participated in the program. Mr Sankuli Biswal, Wash Consultant, UNICEF was the resource person. A Sensitization meeting was also held at Dhanurjayapur GP premises on 19th May 2015. Ms. Nirmala Gupta, VP (Projects)BIPF, Mr. S. Bhargava, GM, NCM, Mr. Paramananda Tanti, Sarapanch, Dhanurjayapur GP, attended the meeting. An action plan was prepared to make the GP Open Defecation Free through CLTS approach. CLTS is an innovative methodology which focuses on behavioral changes needed to ensure real and sustainable improvement – investing in community mobilization instead of hardware. Project Su-Swasthya, an initiative by BIPF, envisages an ideal situation, where the community takes care of its water needs, starting from accessing the water source to end use, in a sustainable way. Priority is given to requirement, availability, finance, conservation & use. Through this project BIPF will act as a catalyst for community empowerment for maintaining Sanitation & Hygiene.

Project ArogyaDhara: Preventive Healthcare & Awareness programs

Free Health Check-up Camp: Choudwar A free health check-up camp was organised at Agrahat Primary School of Agrahat GP Choudwar, on 15th May 2015, to address urgent healthcare needs of villagers & create general health awareness among people. Dr. Sanjaya Ku. Sahoo (Medicine), Dr. Jadunath Dash (TB & Chest) and Dr. Manoj Das (Pediatrics from ShishuBhawan, Cuttack) provided free medical health care services. More than 425 patients from nearby villages were treated & provided with free medicines, at the camp.

Rural Health Camp: Sukinda A rural health camp was conducted at Karadagadia Project UP School, in Kaankadpal GP of Sukinda on 19.06.15. 270 patients were treated and given free medicines at the camp. Dr R N Mishra,Surgery Specialist and I/c Sukinda CHC, Dr Ramesh Sahoo, Gynecologist, Danagadi CHC, Dr Diptikanta Sahoo, Medicine specialist, Kuhika PHC & Dr L P Mohanty, DGM (Medical), NCM, paramedical staff and officials successfully conducted the camp. A Malaria detection camp was also organized under the supervision of Dr R N Mishra.

Livestock Vaccination Camp: Sukinda A camp was organized on 18th March 2015 in operational area of Sukinda for vaccination of livestock and distribution of medicines. This Vaccination Camp was inaugurated by Smt Bhagabati Mohanta, Chairman Sukinda Block in presence of Dr Pramod Ku Pradhan, Block Veterinary Officer, Sukinda and village leaders. Total 847 livestock including cows, oxen, buffaloes, goats, sheep, hen etc were vaccinated and treated at the camp.

Project Unnati: for Women

Project Unnati Extended to After successful execution in Keonjahr & Angul district now Project Unnati was extended to Sukinda in Jajpur district.At inception stage it started with 25 SHGs in 3GPs of Sukinda Block, Jajpur. Initially training was imparted on 'Fundamental Concepts of SHG' and 'Managerial Capacity Building of SHG members'. Subsequently training will be provided on 'Record Keeping', 'Group Dynamics' and 'Life Skill' followed by Household level Livelihood assessment & analysis of SHG members for future initiatives.

Project Unnati : Yam Cultivation at Angul

Yam is a nutritious vegetable, traditionally used as a starch substitute for potatoes in rural areas. In an effort to increase Yam production BIPF in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Odisha, is implementingYam Cultivation at Sakosinga village of Banarpal Block of Angul. Experts from CTCRI, (Central Tuber Crops Research Institute) Bhubaneswar & ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency), Angul provided technical knowhow to SHG members & Farmers on Yam Production and conducted on-field practical sessions as well.

Project Unnati: Training in Pickle- Making at Nuasahi SHG members from Madhuban Village at Nuasahi were imparted training for making Mango Pickles for commercial production and marketing. BIPF lent support for marketing of this product which was named “Madhuban Pickle”. This initiative under Project Unnati helps in income generation by supplementing the main source of income of women on a sustainable basis.

Consume with Care."A talk on the theme of World Environment Day 2015 followed by Environmental quiz competition among ladies was conducted at Choudwar Recreation club, Colony II by Environment Management Department. Mr Sudam Barik, DGM (HSE & Compliance) elaborated the WED theme and explained how our consumption of natural resources is critically higher than what the planet can sustainably provide, which has been the case for decades. In the 1970s, the global population crossed a critical threshold, when human consumption overtook the planet's rate of replenishment, the Global Footprint Network reports. So what is the cost of going into the Earth's ecological overdraft? Humanity is using more than the Earth can provide. Many of our planet's ecosystems are reaching critical point of depletion or nearing irreversible change, pushed by economic development and population growth. According to the United Nations, if current consumption and production patterns remain the same and the population grows to its expected figure of 9.6 billion, three planets will be needed to sustain our ways of living and consumption by 2050. Further details of following greens tips were discussed towards a better Environment. Some approaches to conservation and preservation of the environment were also discussed.

• Going green is not a burden but a necessity.Do it keenly. • Promote going green culture in your religious festivals. • Make your kids familiar with green issues. • Promote habit of going green in your kids from an early age. • Never skip green stuff published in newspaper and read them carefully. • Keep discussing about green issues with your friends and colleagues. • Whatever you do for the cause of the environment publicize it to motivate others to follow you. • Celebrate days of environmental significance in your area. • Keep planting tree and ask others to do so. • Never shift the blame of polluting on others.Do your best to set example for others. • Get regular updates on pollution control. • Keep smiling and protecting your environment from all types of hazards.

‘Pratistha Day’ Sri Sri Laxmi Narayan Temple : THV

The temple dedicated to Sri Sri Laxmi Narayan,built by IMFA at Therubali, came alive with colourful lighting and chanting of hymns on its "Pratistha Day" (Foundation Day) which was celebrated on 30.05.2015.The day long worshipping started at 8.30AM onwards with holy fire sacrifice being performed till 12 Noon. This was continued from 5PM onwards and Purnahuti, final sacrificial offering till 7.15PM. Large number of employees as well as residents from the Colonies and adjacent villages participated in the prayers and worship.

Sri Ram Navami & Basantika Durga Puja:CDR Sri Ram Navami and Basantika Durga Puja were celebrated at Lord Sri Rama Temple inside our Factory Premises from 20.03.2015 to 28.03.2015. All Employees along with their family including local devotees visited the temple and participated in the worship . Mrs. & Mr P. K. Padhy performed as Karta and Karti, of Sri Rama Navami and Mrs & Mr R N Panigrahi were the Karta & Karti for Basantika Durga Puja. During the nine-day celebrations. Shri Ram Charita Manas (Life story of Lord Rama) was chanted by Shri Rashmi Ranjan Pani and Team. On 28.03.2015 a Bhajan programme was organized in the evening by IMFA Sangeet Prativa Team followed by Prasad Sevan.

Hanuman Jayanti: CDR Hanuman Jayanti and Mahavishuba Sankranti, or the Odia New Year was celebrated on 14.04.2015 at Sri Ram Temple. Prayers dedicated to Lord Shri Hanuman famously known as Sri Hanuman Chalisa were sung throughout the day by local artists followed by devotional songs, which was performed by members of IMFA Sangeet Prativa in the evening. : CDR Pana Sankranti, the New Year for Odisha, was celebrated at Colony No.2.Recreation Club. Known also as Maha Vishuba Sankranti it is observed by Pujas, processions, eating Sattu and drinking Bela Pana. Generally falling on the 14th or 15th April, it marks the beginning of the New Year in the traditional Odia Solar and is observed to welcome the approaching summer months. People of Odisha take sweet Pana, a healthy cool drink to beat the summer heat.

Social Recognition Conferred Mr Sanjeev Das VP& Head CA & Legal, IMFA was felicitated by His Excellency Governor of Odisha Dr SC Jamir for his outstanding contribution in social- sector at a function organized by 'Prerana', a state-level NGO in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2015.

Raja Celebrated At Imfa Club Pahali Raja was celebrated on 14th Jun 2015 at IMFA Club. Children and club members had performed various dance programme on the occassion. "ANTAKSHARI" and Filmi quiz was shared among all the members and family and token of prizes distributed to the participants. Mini Food Bazar was organized for the members and Programme ended with a dinner. After the dinner, sweet PAN remembered us the happiness of RAJA-2015.

VP & Head CA & Legal, Felicitated On the occasion of 10th Raja Mahotsav Function organised by Soor Mandir,one of the premier cultural organisations of Cuttack, Mr Sanjeev Das,VP & Head CA & Legal, IMFA,was felicitated for promoting various socio-cultural activities in Odisha. The function was held at Sahid Bhavan, Cuttack, on 14th June 2015.

Childrens' Games:SMC & MMC To maintain study-life balance in children’s lives and to create a competitive spirit among them some fun & games like Balance-race, Ludo etc were organised for the colony children during summer vacation.This event saw enthusiastic participation by children of all ages. Prizes were distributed to the winners and participation prize to other colony children. Senior executives of the officer's club distributed the prizes. An in –house Antakshyari competition was also organized by the club members as post Raja celebrations.
