TERNA: DEFINITIVE PLANS APPROVED FOR CREATION OF THE NEW 132 kV – VOLTANA CABLE POWER LINE IN THE PROVINCE OF

€ 12 million investment

The works will increase the security, efficiency and resilience of the local electricity system in the face of changing energy requirements in the area

Works commence in September 2021

Rome, 27 June 2021 - Following approval by the Ministry of Ecological Transition of the definitive plans for creation of the 132 kV underground power line between the primary cabins of Conselice and Voltana, in the province of Ravenna, today Terna published a notice listing the plots corresponding to the areas involved in the municipalities of Conselice and Lugo (RA).

The new underground power line, running approximately 9 km, for which Terna will invest € 12 million, will guarantee greater security of the electricity service in the area and enable improvement of the current grid configuration, with radial connection of the Conselice primary cabin through the 132 kV Conselice – Schiappa power line, thus increasing efficiency and resilience of the local electricity system.

Having completed all phases in preparation for the start of works, Terna plans to begin activity in September this year.

The owners of the plots involved in the works can view the plans at the municipalities of Conselice and Lugo (RA) or the Terna headquarters, and for any other communications it is possible to write to Terna within 30 days of publication of the notice.

The works form part of the 2021-2025 “Driving Energy” Business Plan, and in the next five years there will be investment of over € 250 million in — out of € 8.9 billion at a national level — to develop and increase the resilience of the regional electricity grid in the context of the energy transition that Terna promotes. Over € 90 million of the total investment in the region will be assigned to modernising existing assets.
