◦ This is a collection of work done for classes at the Park School of Baltimore. These pieces of writing and art were recommended by teachers to an editorial board of students and teachers. This board considered all the submissions without knowing who made them. The only criteria the editors had were that the work be comprehensible and interesting to a general audience and, in some way, good. The rest of the decision making process was up to the tastes, whims, peculiar proclivities of the people involved. As the variety and volume of submissions continues to increase, and the editors faced the daunting task of having to accept less than half of what was recommended. The Winter 2017 edition is larger than the previous one, and we hope the Spring edition will be larger still. Many thanks to the teachers who made recommendations, to the students who agreed to share their work, to Principal Nancy Dickson and Dean of Students Traci Wright for supporting the idea, and to the Parent’s Association for giving the publication a welcome short-term boost, so it could be printed professionally. Also, I am grateful to those editors who agreed to spend their time reading, and carefully considering what could fit. FORT GANSEVOORT FINALISTS TAKEOVER 2020: RANDOLPHO LAMONIER OCTOBER 23, 2020 “Diários em combustão” [Burning Diaries], 2013, 35mm photography, 60 x 40 cm Do you want to know more works by Randolpho Lamonier, one of the four finalists of PIPA 2020? Are you curious to know what Randolpho produced this year? What are the artist’s future projects? Welcome to the Finalist takeover 2020! Each week, an artist opens its studio to the virtual audience of PIPA Prize, with videos, photos, and texts exclusively produced for the takeover. The idea of creating an online show arose because of this period when the exhibition of the finalists of PIPA 2020 would be on display at Paço Imperial, in Rio. From October 19 to November 13, the artists will fill our platforms and website with original content. We do not aim to replace the postponed exhibition due to the pandemic but to create a possible exchange between the PIPA finalists and the virtual public. From Monday to Saturday, Randolpho Lamonier occupies the website and PIPA Prize social networks with original content. Each day, new material will be made available, including videos, photos, and interviews. Keep an eye on and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook platforms.
