Skaneateles Sailing Club Boat Limits

Purpose:

Define the that meet requirements for club membership and the limits on storage or mooring on Club property;

Sailboat: A is defined as a boat having sails for which the primary means of propulsion is the wind.

Due to space, launch ramp and mooring field limitations the Skaneateles Sailing Club Member boats kept on Club property must meet the following requirements.

Dry Sail Boats:

1. Maximum Length (lower lot) – Less than 21’ LOA 2. Maximum Beam (lower lot)– no more than 9’ 3. Examples of Dry Sail Boats that may be stored in the lower lot include but are not limited to; , Lightning, Buccaneer, Holder 20, Hobie Tiger, etc. 4. Maximum Length (upper lot) – Less than 23’ LOA 5. Maximum Beam (upper lot) – no more than 9’ 6. Examples of Dry Sail Boats that may be stored in the upper lot include but are not limited to; , J70 , etc. 7. Maximum Weight (with trailer) – no more than 3,000 lbs. (boat displacement plus trailer allowance of 400 lbs 8. Dry Sail Boats must be able to be launched without trailer extender bar. Seasonal launch and retrieval or special events are exempt from this rule with permission from Operations Manager.

Moored boats:

1. Maximum Length – 25’ LOA subject to final approval by the Mooring Master 2. Maximum Beam – 9’ subject to final approval by Mooring Master 3. Maximum Displacement – 3,500 lbs subject to final approval by Mooring Master 4. Examples of Moored Boats include but are not limited to; J22, Tanzer 22, J24, Precision 23, , etc.

Any exceptions to the Skaneateles Sailing Club Boat Limits requires written approval by the Operations Manager and Mooring Master.
