However, it is also the deception of others. Since the CBP3 is constantly changing themselves to be consistent with the most successful image of whatever group or individual they are participating with, they deceive themselves and others that they are actually what it is that they are doing. This deceit can manifest itself as simply putting one’s best foot forward by just placing a little spin on the facts to sound good, charm or to self-promote. Deceit is a desire for approval measured by material success. SUGGESTED DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS FOR THIS PROFILE MANAGE YOUR HABITUAL LIMBIC REACTIONS: • Recognise that success is not proof of virtue. • Recognise that there is a difference between who you are and what you do, and learn to value both independently. • Note your automatic tendency to take over, whether it is a good idea or not. Allow others to lead and see where they go. • Take time in your schedule for other people – without an agenda or need for results! • Develop the ability to be honest about how you feel. • Develop the capacity to make a personal connection with those around you. LOOK OUT FOR THE SIGNS OF DISINTEGRATION If the commitment of others to the Crusader, despite their lack of integrity, is not forthcoming, the Crusader will begin to bully and blame others. This bullying comes in the form of cutting words, strong emotions, mood highs and lows and a focus on personal attacks. The Crusader delusionally convinces themselves that they are ‘in the right’ and that others need ‘reprimanding’ to justify their own position. At this stage the Crusader develops and tells elaborate stories that blame others for their own lack of integrity. 817 NEUROPOWER—Appendix 1 Draw on the strengths of your Alter Ego When the Crusader’s Mirror, the Commander, is in control the Crusader loves having fun, breaking the rules, being disorderly, talking loudly, behaving badly and generally doing all the things the Crusader abhors. When integrated into the personality, the Commander gives the Crusader patience, acceptance, warmth, generosity and the ability to solve problems patiently. It even gives them the ability to enjoy life and amuse themselves.
