INVC NEWS Ranchi, Underlining the role of Panchayats in the development of the nation, Chief Minister Mr. Raghubar Dads said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had visualized Swaraj through strengthening the panchayats. Since the concept of Panch Parmeshwar has been in vogue from the very beginning, so we can realize the development of the villages through strengthening the panchayats. The CM said it while addressing a big gathering of people at Khatgaon village of Gagari Panchayat at Ormanjhi. The CM said that Gagari is the village of martyrs. Martyr Seikh Bhikhari and Umraon Singh Tikait had waged a war against the British for Swaraj. On the occasion of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Ex Prime Minister Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri, he said that these leaders had given the slogan of Gram Swaraj. He said that the villages have to be developed for composite development of the nation. Addressing all the people’s representatives through online broadcasting, the CM said that let’s take a vow to clean all Jharkhand by 2018. He said that people have to come forward for sanitation and children have to be educated about it. Surroundings should be cleaned the way we clean a shrines. Laying stress on conduction Gram Sabha every month, the CM said that every citizen of the panchayat should know about the schemes run in the panchayat and the scheme needed for their villages. Schemes should be prepared keeping the next 15 years in view and each panchayat should prepare plan for next three years. He said that people should be made aware about superstitions relating witchcraft and dowry. To stop dropouts in schools, village committees should play an important role. To ensure this, programs should be organized in the villages and girls should be educated. The next generation has to be updated. By 15th November, bench desks will be made by local artisans and delivered to schools. Laying stress on making self help groups, the chief minister said that panchayats should work honestly and everybody should ensure his/her responsibility. They have to think about the villages and its requirements. They should think for the upliftment of poor villagers, healthcare, aanganbari etc. Ranchi MP Mr. Ram Tahal Choudhary said that first of all, the Jharkhand CM started to implement the scheme made by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for village people. Mr. Das started Yojana Banao Abhiyan for the people of the state with a view to make scheme for the people as per their necessities and priorities. He requested the panchayat representatives not to conduct bogus gramsabha which will affect the pace of development. He said that panchayat representatives should ensure participation of all villagers in gramsabha. Khijri MLA Mr. Ram Kumar Pahan said that people’s participation is essential for the development of the village. Appreciating the govt.’s work, he said that strengthening panchayats show the view of the govt. Addl. Chief Secretary Mr. Amit Khare said that ‘Sashakt Gram Sabha…. Saksham Panchayat,’ is a novel initiation of the govt. which seeks to benefit the last person of the society through panchayats. He said that the result of Yojana Banao Abhiyan are overwhelming and panchayats are being made strong for its implementation. From the 14th Finance Commission, the state is to receive Rs. 80 lakh to 1.25 cr. for each panchayat. On this occasion, the CM gave oath to the people in the name of cleanliness and sanitation and felicitated Mr. Mahendra Oraon and Mr. Seikh Yasir, the respective descendants of martyrs Umraon Singh Tikait and Seikh Bhikhari. In the beginning of the program, the CM and other dignified people paid floral tribute and garlanded Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and martyrs duo Umraon Singh Tikait and Seikh Bhikhari.
