We celebrated our 40th milestone in fine style, with a wonderful function at Caulfield Racecourse. On behalf of the entire club, I congratulate all the people who worked behind the scenes to pull together a memorable night, with particular thanks to Dicky and Kylie Corbett, Peter Duncan, Dan Sharpe and Kylie and Paul Zennaro. This season, the club fielded a record of 165 players each week, made up of 6 senior sides and 9 junior sides. Stuart Hamilton also managed a Milo program for pre-junior cricketers, with 25 children learning the finer points of the game every Tuesday night. Our juniors had a remarkable year, collecting 3 premierships. The club is certainly in great shape, and we are indebted to Stuart Hamilton, Basil Finnigan, as well as all of the junior team managers and the constant and reliable helpers, who have contributed a great deal of blood, sweat and tears. Thank you to each and every person who continues to help shape the future of our club. With some additional senior assistance next season, the juniors will progress to even greater heights. The committee had a very good season, and we certainly delivered on the majority of our off-field objectives. The work required to manage the day-to-day operations of the club increases every year, as do the expectations of our members. We will require 3 or 4 young and enthusiastic committee members in the coming season, and we look forward to those volunteers reinvigorating the club with fresh ideas and approaches.

    MELBOURNE STARS BIG BASH LEAGUE V JANUARY 1, 2019 ELBOURNE RENEGADES FACT SHEET M LIBRARY After a month of WBBL matches, the 2019 Big Bash League comes to the MCG today for five matches and possibly finals. Today’s game is the annual local “derby” between the Stars and Renegades at the MCG. This is becoming a permanent fixture in early January, played on the 10th in 2015, the 2nd in 2016, the 1st in 2017, and the 6th in 2018. The Stars this year are captained by Glenn Maxwell and coached by Stephen Fleming. The Renegades will be led by Aaron Finch and Andrew McDonald is their coach. He and his family lived just one street north of Valley Parade, in Malvern Avenue. His Hartwell-based real estate business had been operating for almost twenty years.
