Oracle Rdb Extension for OEM 9i, Release 7.1.0.0 for Windows and Sun Solaris

Overview

This kit includes the first release the Oracle Rdb Extension for the Oracle 9i Enterprise Manager. This version is completely different from any previous versions that were released for the Oracle Enterprise Manager 2.2 or earlier.

This kit contains extensions for the Enterprise Manager Console on Windows NT/2000 and Sun Solaris OS (SPARC), the Oracle Management Server on Windows NT/2000 and Sun Solaris OS (SPARC), and the Oracle Intelligent agent on OpenVMS for Alpha.

Software Versions

Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Sun Solaris OS (SPARC) Oracle Enterprise Manager 9.0.1 or 9.2 Oracle Rdb Release 7.1 or later OpenVMS for Alpha 7.2 or later Oracle9i Intelligent Agent 9.0.1 or 9.2 on OpenVMS for Alpha Oracle Universal Installer 2.2.0.12.0 or later

Installation

The Windows or Sun Solaris portion of this product is installed by the Oracle Universal Installer 2.2.0.12.0. The OpenVMS portion of this product is installed by a DCL command procedure in a backup saveset.

To assist those customers who do not already have the Universal Installer or who have an older version of the Universal installer, this kit has the Oracle Universal Installer 2.2.0.12.0 built-in.

To install the extensions to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console and the Oracle Management Server, extract the contents of the zip file into a temporary folder and then run SETUP.EXE in the Disk1/install/win32 folder for a Windows NT/2000 installation or run runInstaller in the Disk1/install/solaris folder for a Sun Solaris (SPARC) installation. This will start the Oracle Universal Installer. When the installer starts, click the NEXT button on the first screen. On the second screen, use the BROWSE button to set the "source" to the "products.jar" file inside the "STAGE" folder. (This should already be set correctly.)
