Neither of the properties are affected by SANRAL, the new interchange, or the work that we are doing for the CRLHC developers.

The Eddie Hogan Drive property may be affected by the work that SMEC are undertaking for CRLHC and would need to be confirmed by them.

It is unlikely that the Alice Goswell property is affected, but CRLHC / SMEC would again need to confirm.

NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION (FOR N2/N3 UPGRADES - BASIC ASSESSMENT 1)

Notice is hereby given that on 17 April 2019, the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) granted Environmental Authorisation for SANRAL’s proposed capacity upgrades of the N3 from EB Cloete Interchange to Paradise Valley and the N2 (Solomon Mahlangu Interchange to south of Umgeni Road), within the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal. This notice is issued in terms of the amended EIA Regulations (2017) published under the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998).

Copies of the Environmental Authorisation and the reasons for the decision can be requested from ACER (Africa) Environmental Consultants (contact person: Ms Carina Boonzaaier, Tel: 035 340 2715 or Email: [email protected]) or downloaded from ACER’s website (www.acerafrica.co.za) under the “Current Projects” link [Proposed N2 and N3 Capacity Upgrades – Batch 1 Projects].

Interested and Affected Parties are advised of the appeal procedure provided for in the National Appeal Regulations (GNR 993 of December 2014), in particular, the provisions of regulation 4(1) (see attached).

Should any person wish to lodge an appeal against this decision, he/she must submit the appeal to the appeal administrator, and a copy of the appeal to the applicant, any registered interested and affected party, and any organ of state with interest in the matter. Appeals must be submitted within 20 (twenty) days from the date of this notice. Appeals must be submitted in writing on the prescribed form, before the 20 May 2019, to:
