1982 Fleetnotes via FMLegacy ! Sept. 4, 1982 – Orlando, FL Loverboy, John Cougar (no Mellencamp yet) and John Waite (playing his big hit ‘Change’) opened for The Mac. A fan recalls John Cougar riding on Kenny Aranoff’s shoulders during ‘Hurts So Good’. During the Loverboy set, it was so hot that security had to spray the crowd with firehoses. When the Mac played Gypsy virtually the enKre crowd lit their cigareLe lighters. Stevie didn’t finish the !song because she was too emoKonal that night. Sept. 5, 1982 – San Bernardino, CA The band closed the third and final day of the US FesKval by playing their Mirage set. The order of arKsts on the bill was as follows: Grateful Dead, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy Buffet, Jackson Browne, and then Fleetwood Mac. This was also the last Kme that Mick Fleetwood saw Stevie’s friend Robin Anderson, who later passed away from leukaemia. She was very ill at the show and had to be !helicoptered out of the venue. With a career spanning nearly 50 years, Dave Mason is an accomplished producer, performer and songwriter. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work with the band Traffic, Mason has penned over 100 songs, including “Feelin’ Alright” and “We Just Disagree.” Throughout his career Mason has worked with some of the most influential bands and musicians in rock and roll. He performed on The Rolling Stones’ Beggar’s Banquet, George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, Paul McCartney’s “Listen to What the Man Said” and Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland. Five highly successful albums for the CBS/Sony label followed, four of which received gold album certification in the US. His next album Let It Flow sold millions of copies and contained the major Mason classic "We Just Disagree.” In addition to performing to sold-out audiences and being a permanent staple in record collections and hearts of fans around the world, Mason’s unique guitar work can be heard on many landmark albums and songs. -

PATHEON INC., Defendant. _____________________________________/ ORDER ON DEFENDANT PATHEON’S MOTION FOR ENTRY OF JUDGMENT In his 1977 hit song, English singer/songwriter/guitarist Dave Mason, co‐founder of the band Traffic, explained: “There ain’t no good guy, there ain’t no bad guy, There’s only you and me and we just disagree.”1 The song lyric phrase “we just disagree” can surely be applied to the relationship between Plaintiff Procaps S.A. (“Procaps”) and Defendant Patheon Inc. (“Patheon”) in this antitrust lawsuit. Procaps and Patheon have disagreed about pretty much everything in this case, which is now on appeal and which was filed in December 2012. The trial court record has generated 1046 docket entries. They have disagreed about whether Patheon is entitled to attorney’s fees after prevailing on its summary judgment motion and whether the Court should stay a fees analysis pending an appellate court ruling. So it is no surprise that the parties now disagree about whether the Court should enter a judgment against Procaps in connection with an order awarding Patheon $173,480.80 in taxable costs. -

Paul Thorn calls The Biscuit “one of my favorites” and “a wonderful event.” Carolyn Wonderland says it’s like going to Mecca: “You gotta make the pilgrimage because it’s where the music’s real.” Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke looks at the group’s Biscuit date as his job to “make sure we continue to push outwards with our music and continue to grow where we don’t feel stifled or bored or stagnant.” Each of these acts will perform at the 33rd annual King Biscuit Blues Festival set for October 3 through 6. They represent a commitment to continue a historic thread that’s always made the Biscuit a showcase for the best of the past, present and future of America’s musical art form, the blues. Dave Mason crowns this year’s King Biscuit Saturday night performing with Steve Cropper. Mason calls his appearance at the festival “a chance to do something a little bit different and for me to do some material that I would never normally do.” One of the founders of the British Invasion rock band Traffic, he shares the stage with Steve Cropper, who co-wrote Otis Redding’s “The Dock of The Bay.” Considered the founder of Memphis soul, Cropper was named the number two guitarist of all time (Jimi Hendrix was number one) by England’s Mojo magazine. -

It's only rock & roll | Pep Saña | Actualitzat el 02/11/2016 a les 06:00 Fleetwood Mac: Del Blues Anglès al Soft Rock Americà Fleetwood Mac es va formar al 1967 al voltant del talentós guitarrista de blues Peter Green, que s'acabava de destacar com a substitut d'Eric Clapton a la banda de John Mayall, The Bluesbreakers. La història de Fleetwood Mac és llarga, tortuosa i una mica desconcertant. En menys d'una dècada, va passar de ser una admirada i respectada banda del blues anglès dels 60, a ser un referent del soft rock (també anomenat AOR, abreviació de l'anglès, Adult Oriented Rock) californià, gènere que els va transformar en mega estrelles i en un dels majors èxits comercials de la història. Els constants canvis de formació que va patir la banda durant uns anys expliquen, en part, la radical transformació musical de Fleetwood Mac. Pocs grups a la història del rock han patit tants canvis de formació, estilístics, musicals i geogràfics com els camaleònics Fleetwood Mac, han sobreviscut a 15 formacions diferents en gairebé 50 anys de trajectòria. La deserció de la banda dels dos grans guitarristes de blues, Peter Green i Jeremy Spencer, fundadors del grup al costat de Mick Fleetwood i John McVie, va posar a la banda en una difícil decisió, acabar amb el projecte o explorar noves influències creatives.
