Salzburg, January 2018 – Superstars of Formula 1 racing, marvellous retro racers and stunning long-distance speed merchants, as well as the super sports cars of motor racing history – all join forces with Carrera DIGITAL 132. The new season has again brought the generations together to guarantee an authentic motorsport atmosphere during spectacular family races on Carrera racetracks in homes rooms everywhere.

There’s immense excitement in store this year with a first-person view option for Carrera cars in DIGITAL 132 and DIGITAL 124 with a striking red livery and eye-catching Carrera branding. What’s more, in future hobby drivers will be able to ‘feel’ and see the race action and their own velocity from the driver’s point of view via the built-in FPV-mode camera. The live video feed appears on the screens of connected mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. Genuine motor sport fans can swap and share their most spectacular racing videos – for unbeatable ‘motorsport at home’.

This year three legends will be celebrating the start of the 1:32-scale motorsports party in the ‘DRM Retro Race’ set. With the Carrera Logo on the front spoiler, and featuring the burning flame design, the Ford Capri Turbo ‘Liqui Moly Equipe No. 55’ will be turning heads everywhere. The other opponents have nothing to be shy about, either. There’s the red Porsche 938/78 ‘Moby Dick’ DRM 1981 and the light blue-and-white BMW M1 Procar ‘Sauber Racing, No. 90’ Norisring 1980 with yellow deco trims; both of which are equally deserving of attention as they speed around the 8-metre high speed circuit. The set is a homage to sportscars of yesteryear; ones that made the motor racing history that can now be seen in action on home-based racetracks once again. There’s also another special feature in this Carrera set. The nostalgic sheet metal hoarding further enhances the vintage charm of the race track. Against this background these stylish racers look even more stunning, so this is a must- have for every nostalgic!

The action continues with the never-ending rivalry between and , the two world champions in motor racing’s current elite division. The new set ‘Formula Rivals’ is all about the battle for supremacy. The daring 8-metre high-speed circuit sees Vettel in his SF70H and Hamilton in his Silver Arrow Mercedes F1 W08 EQ Power+ battle for the inches that will earn them a place at the top of the podium. Success can only be attained with sufficient training and discipline, as every Carrera driver learns on the way to victory around this Formula 1 racing circuit.

Long-distance racing is all about patience and stamina, and the magnificent rides in the ‘High Speeder’ set have these qualities in abundance. Two genuinely ‘super’ sports cars face off for this challenge: The Mercedes-AMG GT3 ‘AKKA ASP, No.87’ and the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Lechner Racing ‘Carrera Race Taxi’. The 7.3-metre circuit

provides these great looking racers with plenty of opportunities to chase each other and unfurl their full potential.

The ‘GT Race Star’ set matches up two absolute powerhouses for a duel on Carrera tracks. The BMW M6 GT3 ‘Team Falken, No.3’ has an amazing 585 hp under the hood. In the fourth race of the 2017 racing season it was this power that shot the car to the top of the podium at the Nürburgring. The exclusive Ferrari reproduction license is a boon for the challenger, the long-distance Ferrari 488 GT3 ‘AF Corse, No. 51’, a car that doesn’t give an inch on races around the 7.3-metre circuit. The 2.4GHz WIRELESS+ controllers included with the set enable living rooms around the world to be taken over by a long-distance racing atmosphere that can be maintained non-stop for up to 8 hours.

The new model pool also features some long-distance racing heroes for the Carrera DIGITAL 132 racing circuit, particularly the biggest names in GT3 racing. The turquoise- blue BMW M6 GT3 ‘Team Falken, No.3’ carried the drivers Jörg Müller and Stef Dusseldorp to first place in the fourth run of the VLN long-distance championship at the Nürburgring. The twins Marc and Dennis Busch at the wheel of the R8 LMS ‘Twin Busch, No.44’ were also successful in their equally striking bright yellow and blue car. The green Huracán GT3 ‘Imperiale Racing Team, No. 63’ rocketed around the circuit and ended up winning the International GT Open. Another fellow Italian also looks stunning in green. The Ferrari 488 GT3 ‘Rinaldi Racing, No.333’ is constantly in the spotlight with such an unusual colour for a Ferrari. The Americans know all about long-distance racing, too. The black ‘stealth-look’ Ford GT Race Car ‘No.67’ with enhanced aerodynamics is ready to tear up the tracks. The all- black Corvette C7.R ‘No.69’ is also ready for racing action, and with 600 hp under the hood spectators have to be careful not to miss it as it flashes past.

There are lots of new DTM reinforcements for this year’s vehicle pool. Audi is represented by three new models. The Swedish driver Mattias Ekström was the proud runner-up in last season’s DTM championship, and his blue 4-litre V8 Audi RS 5 DTM bearing the Red Bull logo played a big role in this success. The British driver Jamie Green also enjoyed success with Audi, finishing 3rd overall. The enhanced technology and radiant orange exterior of this car attract stares at every venue. The Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver, the German , drove an Audi RS 5 DTM which carried him to overall fourth in the championship in a bright yellow and green livery. BMW combines the Bavarian automobile precision of the eye-catching bright red BMW M4 DTM with the Brazilian temperament of BMW Team RMG driver . Driving in the traditional white and blue livery, the Belgian has climbed to 10th in the BMW M4 DTM. Mercedes has also sent out three new cars into the fray: The Mercedes- AMG C 63 DTM of Paul Di Resta looks great with its TV Spielfilm paint job. Fellow driver, the Brit , is equally skilful at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM with an elegant silver-blue livery that demands respect wherever it goes. The Canadian Robert Wickens also impressed in the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM last season. On the second day of racing at the Nürburgring he drove straight to the top of the podium.

The Carrera DIGITAL 132 Formula 1 pool now welcomes the veteran Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen with his current car. The Ferrari SF70H powerhouse gives him a great chance of keeping pace with his teammate Sebastian Vettel. Speed is also of the essence with the as the Mercedes F1 W08 EQ Power+ ‘V.Bottas, No.77’ provides impressive proof that the Mercedes drivers are always a force to be reckoned with.

Porsche offers something extremely aesthetically pleasing with the Porsche 911 Carrera ‘No.11’. The stylish paintwork features a scorching flame on a black background, burning red wheel rims and shark’s teeth – and a flashing light on the roof to ensure nobody looks the wrong way. The Porsche 917K Porsche Salzburg ‘No.23’, 1970 in red and white also turns heads everywhere – as does its history of triumphs. At the French 24-hour race in 1970, Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood drove to the top of the podium and into the motorsports history books.

The Ferrari 365 P2 Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. ‘No.17’ is equally steeped in history. In 1965 it was every bit as good as the major rival, Ford, during the 24-hour battle. Ford is also proud of its vintage cars, as can be seen with the next two models: The Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo ‘Sachs Sporting, No.52’ had its heyday in the 70s and 80s, and also competed at the Norisring circuit in 1979. The German racing driver Jürgen Hamelmann also drove for Ford, achieving his greatest DRM triumphs in the Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo.

Chevrolet is an indispensable part of US motorsports bedrock. The Chevrolet Dekon Monza ‘No. 1’ was introduced in 1976, and was decked out patriotically in the national colours of red, white and blue, USA to mark the country’s bicentennial celebrations. In contrast, the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 ‘Super Stocker II’ was a 1960s and 1970s super sportscar and appears in black with a roaring flame. Then there’s the Pontiac Firebird Trans AM, an absolute legend of the pony car era. The Firebird 1967 was based on the Chevrolet Camaro during the period of cooperation between Chevrolet and Pontiac.

The US police Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 ‘Police’ is the adversary no speed limit violator wants to meet. Lamborghini’s donation during the ‘Tour de Foc’ enabled these US police officers to reap the benefits of this amazing automobile.

Junior drivers can look forward to meeting the stars of Disney•Pixar Cars 3 out on the circuit. The main hero of the film, Lightning McQueen, now appears with his brand-new blue paintwork as ‘Fabulous Lightning McQueen’. Of course, he’s still as agile and speedy as he ever was.

Very special trackside tasks require very special vehicles, so Carrera has included some very impressive commercial vehicles in its machine park. ‘Carrera First Responder’ is a chunky fire-fighting truck that can even remove obstacles from the scene using its powerful bumpers if required. Subsequently, a return to order is ensured by the six-tyre ‘Carrera Tow-Truck’ with a selection of five situational sounds for an authentic atmosphere on site.
