Nathaniel Martello-White Writer/Director

Nathaniel Martello-White is a British actor, director and writer for stage and screen. BLACKTA, his first play, premiered at the Young Vic in 2012, and Nathaniel is adapting it into a TV series with Dancing Ledge Productions for HBO. He is also developing his debut feature film DUMBARTON ROAD with The Bureau, Film4 and the BFI, which will shoot later this year.

During the UK’s first covid-19 lockdown, Nathaniel wrote and directed an episode of UNPRECEDENTED: REAL TIME THEATRE FROM A STATE OF ISOLATION, a series of short digital plays from celebrated playwrights curated by Headlong and Century Films. He is currently under commission to write new plays for the Royal Court Theatre and Headlong.

As an actor, Nathaniel recently appeared in Steve McQueen’s critically acclaimed anthology series SMALL AXE (BBC/Amazon), as well as & ’s hit show I HATE SUZIE (). His many stage credits include roles in Joe Turner's COME AND GONE and THE BROTHERS SIZE (Young Vic), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, CITY MADAME, MARAT/SADE (RSC), INNOCENCE (Arcola) and OXFORD STREET (Royal Court).
