Olivier Ezratty est un conférencier régulier dans tous ces domaines aussi bien en intra qu‟en interentreprises. Il a réalisé depuis 2005 des missions diverses et notamment pour LG Electronics, L‟Oréal, le Crédit Agricole, le groupe Pages Jaunes, Netgem, pour le groupe Skyrock ainsi que pour différentes sociétés d‟investissement en capital risque. Il accompagne par ailleurs des startups dans leur développement, notamment le site de recommandations culturelles ULike, le site de partage et de tirages professionnels Darqroom dont il est administrateur depuis fin 2009, la société Zap-Meeting qui propose des solutions de gestion de présentation pour les entreprises, Voluntis, un éditeur de logiciels de suivi de traitement de maladies de longue durée, ainsi que Miyowa, spécialiste de la messagerie instantanée pour mobiles. Il est auteur de différents rapports, notamment de Visite du Consumer Electronics Show – publié les mois de janvier de chaque année depuis 2006, ou sur l‟accompagnement des startups hightech en France. Olivier Ezratty débute en 1985 chez Sogitec, une filiale du groupe Dassault, où il est successivement Ingénieur Logiciel, puis Responsable du Service Etudes dans la Division Communication. Il initialise des développements sous Windows 1.0 dans le domaine de l'informatique éditoriale. Entrant chez Microsoft France en 1990, il y acquiert une expérience dans de nombreux domaines du mix marke- ting: produits, canaux, marchés, communication et relations presse. Il lance la première version de Visual Basic en 1991 ainsi que celle de Windows NT en 1993. En juillet 1998, Olivier Ezratty prend en charge la Direction Mar- keting et Communication de Microsoft France et en mai 2001, de la Division Développeurs et Plate-forme d'En- treprise dont il assure la création en France. Cette division promeut la plate-forme d'entreprise Microsoft auprès des développeurs, des éditeurs de logiciels et SSII, des responsables informatiques, des architectes logiciels, ainsi que dans l'enseignement supérieur et la recherche. Il y lance la plate-forme .NET, de nombreux partenariats avec l‟enseignement supérieur, la recherche et les éditeurs de logiciels français. Il quitte Microsoft en 2005 pour se lancer à son compte dans l‟accompagnement de l‟innovation avec une orientation grand public et médias numé- riques. Introduction La création de ce guide a été motivée par le démarrage en 2005 de mon activité de conseil straté- gique en innovation, un domaine assez peu structuré en France lorsqu‟il s‟agit d‟accompagner les startups. Il est aussi le fruit d‟un échange avec Dimitri Dagot, alors responsable de l‟option Techno- logies de l‟Information à l‟Ecole Centrale Paris et le prolongement d‟une conférence que j‟assure pour ce cursus sur le thème des « Stratégies de l‟Innovation ». Depuis les années 1990, l‟Europe et la France ont pris conscience de l‟importance d‟avoir des star- tups innovantes pour créer de la croissance et des exportations. Cette prise de conscience a été exa- cerbée en France par la crise de la recherche depuis 2004 et par la volonté de la France de conquérir plus efficacement

A BOUNDED RATIONALITY PERSPECTIVE BENJAMIN L. HALLEN EMILY COX PAHNKE University of Washington There has been substantial research on the value of young firms engaging high-quality partners. This literature, as well as the broader firm reputation literature, has tended to assume that individuals leading such firms find it relatively easy to accurately assess potential partner quality as reflected in their track record of past performance and be- havior. Yet this prior work has largely focused on information-rich environments where potential partners are generally large and receive substantial public attention, and with whom evaluators may have high familiarity. In contrast, we draw on bounded rationality to theorize about how in information-sparse environments, individuals may misperceive the quality indicated by a firm’s objective track record. We argue that accurate evaluations depend not only on individuals’ motivation and ability to access information but on the convergence of these factors with attributes of the potential partner being evaluated. We test and find support for our framework using a novel dataset of 1,278 ratings of the quality of 153 early-stage venture capital firms by entrepreneurs that approached these firms for investments. Overall, this paper extends understanding of firm reputation dynamics to information-sparse contexts, and explores why individuals such as entrepreneurs may at times have difficulty accurately evaluating partners. Young firms often lack critical resources (Stinchcombe, & Rosenberger, 2014; Vissa & Chacar, 2009), improve 1965) and are of indeterminate quality, and so benefit innovation (Pahnke, Katila, & Eisenhardt, 2015), and from working with the right partners.
