  • 1 the GOSPEL ACCORDING to JOHN General Observations
1 Commentary to the Gospel according to John - Rev. John Schultz THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN General Observations: The Gospel according to John and the Synoptic Gospels: The fourth book of the New Testament is in most Greek manuscript simply known as “According to John.” This links this gospel to the three preceding ones. But it is obvious that John’s Gospel is distinct from what is known as “The Synoptic Gospels.” If we would leave John’s Gospel out of our Bible, we would deprive ourselves of a large part of truth that is indispensable to our understanding of the person of Jesus Christ and of the way of salvation. John teaches us lessons that are not found in the other Gospels. The Pulpit Commentary, in its extensive introduction to the Gospel of John, highlights the following points that are representative of John’s teaching, none of which are emphasized in a similar fashion in the other Gospels: § God is Spirit § God is called “the Father” § The teaching about “The Father and the Son” § The teaching about God and the Logos § The Word made flesh § The Son of God, the Christ, the Son of Man § The Spirit and the Trinity § The world as the creature of God § The world of men § The prince of this world § Salvation of the world J. Sidlow Baxter, in his book Exploring the Book, introduces the Gospel of John as follows: “A whole volume might be filled with the encomiums which scholars and saints have written on this ‘Gospel according to John.’ Is there anywhere a more exquisite compound of infinite profundity and lingual simplicity? Was there ever a sublimer subject more ingenuously interpreted? But its priceless preciousness, of course, lies in its Divine revealings and spiritual values.

  • A Word to Our Readers to Begin With, Many Thanks to You All for Making 2012 an Outstanding Year for Us
A Word To Our Readers To begin with, many thanks to you all for making 2012 an outstanding year for us. It seems that the world has finally discovered the source of true knowledge, of peace of mind, and a more abundant and eternal way of life. Every month, our site was visited by people from about 80 countries, but when we looked at the year as a whole we discovered that we had unique visitors from 130 countries. And they did not just come and go, but downloaded our materials by the gigabyte. Nothing could make us happier, for it shows that our efforts have not been in vain. We could not help but think of the Scripture which says: “Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days” (Ecc 11:1). We just hope that “many days” will not be too many, for we are getting a bit tired and old to keep carrying on this burden alone. Now while an impressive number of people make good use of our website, the fact remains that many come to us not to seek further enlightenment on spiritual matters but to contend and argue with us. That makes us happy too, for our witness must go out to sinners and righteous alike. We just wonder why people are so defensive about their religion when it has become obvious that it is false and they worship the wrong gods. Do they really know what they worship? Have they ever considered or heard of these statements from Jesus Christ and His Apostles? Joh 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Humanity Must Be Saved From Self-Destruction: The Pope The Pope used his Christmas message to declare that saving humanity of homosexual conduct is as important as saving the tropical forests from destruction. He emphasised the importance of marriage between men and women and condemned homosexual acts as being against the will of God. “The Church must defend not only the earth, water and air as gifts of creation as belonging to everyone, but also humanity against self-destruction”, he said. In this context, the Pope showed that saving humanity of homosexuality is on the same line with saving the forests. Tropical forests deserve our protection, but man, as created, deserves nothing less.” In a clear reference to homosexuality, Pope Benedict XVI, showed that disrespect for the union between man and woman has been raised to the level of self-destruction of humanity. Moreover, he continued, any deviation from the principle of man/woman marriage is a “destruction of God’s creation”. The Catholic Church appreciated that homosexual acts are a sin. It is against marriage between people of the same sex, and in October the Vatican called homosexuality as being “a deviation, an irregularity”. This way, the Vatican opposes a United Nations declaration that wants to outlaw discrimination against homosexuals. Moreover, in some states such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, homosexuality draws the death penalty. The Vatican spokesman, Federico Lombardi, felt the need to clarify that the Vatican condemns the death penalty for any infraction, including homosexuality. (Romania Libera, 23 December, 2008) No one can say that we never publish anything good about the Pope.
