After being a business women in IT industry for more than 10 years, Sreedevi wanted to try hands on Artistic Industry. Giving an opportunity for Indian artists, an e-commerce platform got her interest as it would support the Nation's craftsmanship.

“I wanted to start something towards human touch products and less machinery. India is famous for handcrafts but somehow we have been neglecting handmade products. So I hope, our platform will support our Indian artists and give them a recognition they require” ~ Sreedevi.

Akshita her daughter, a Fashion Business MBA graduate CO-FOUNDER sought profound interest in this project as it was working AKSHITA together with her mother towards a meaningful cause. Akshita who had her education in fashion business at Paris and Istanbul. With their knowledge and passion they decided to create an international platform for small suppliers and artists of the idea of promoting and showcasing great design and craftsmanship from all over India.

“After I heard my mom’s idea immediately I knew that this could be an amazing global opportunity for handmade products and the artists from India. As my mother had been a pillar to my wellbeing until now, I couldn’t ask for more than working with her. I think India has such rich culture and I want to use this platform to educate customers all around the world about Indian culture, heritage, craftsmanship by giving a platform for Indian small scale business” ~ Akshita.

1. Rattan: The First step is to start with the Weaving of Rattan into a desired shape. It would take from 3 days to a weeks’ time to wave the body of the bag.

2. Boiling: The Second process is to boil the bags to get rid of any resins, saps and even fungus and mold that may have attached to the bag from the plant material.

3. Sun-drying: The third step involves Sun-drying the bags for 2 to 3 days for the complete loss of moisture.

4. Smoke: The Fourth step has the bags Smoke them in an Oven to make them sturdy and to condition the material.

5. Sewing: And in the final step, the bag is sewed with high quality leather strap and cloth lining are attached to the bag.

This long arduous process bares the of sturdy, stylish and unique bags, that you would love to add to your collection!
